The game was not ready at launch as every other game that launched in recent history.

The servers was in stable state and appart from the expected queue it was very playable.
(that was not the case for a lot other games that servers crashed repeatly)

The launch was a great success hitting around 1 million players the first week.

Problems start to appearing post launch with bugs and exploits discovered by players and every try to resolve the problems by Amazon itroduced a new one.
That circle continue and made players take a break from the game for the time.
And with some changes in wrong direction and wrong balance patches made 4/5 of total population leave the game or take a break until its more polish.

Regarding other games that you mention in the post, The had few issues but no the major exploit/bug fest NW itroduce patch after patch the last 2 months.
The reason they rebuilded completely or some aspects is another story. They were not enjoyable to play by their fans.(both had an establish fanbase duo to known ipc) nothing to do with bugs and exploits.

I see nothing in common in NW and the other stories. NW needs some polish and fixes and patches that moves to right direction no major rebuild is needed.

Nothing with hype train and sheep.

They played the game and they like it but duo to the bug/exploit fest circle they got tired.

If Amazon continue and fix most of the issues as they liked the game to the core, they will relog in the future.
Its completely in Amazonā€™s hand when they relog to make them stay.

It is hard to deny that you are afflicted by it considering the post you make and I would say that it applies more to people defending the game than to people that have taken a break. This is generalization and I might be wrong but I see some sound reasoning to support that statement. There is very little valid reason to defending the game, there is a lot of valid reasons to criticize it.

True but it has some unique qualities that keep people coming back.

Devs listen and try to interact with the community and people still hate. It just a mob. I donā€™t think people that like the game are the same. Weā€™ve been labelled as white knights and copium warriorsā€¦

It is less of a mess. Not even comparable. FF was foundationaly broken NW just needs extreme refining. Its foundation is solid
