So when I read the Patch Notes it was a bumpy ride of feelings. I am happy they addressed heavy bugs and it made me feel like they listened. Good!
But then again:
No comment, no fix, no registration, that there are a ton of craft materials (most arcana, but I red there are plenty for other crafters) missing in the game. Not like rare drops, they are just not implemented.
Fot example its impossible to craft any magic weapon that’s Tier IV oder V for Arcana. So thanks for letting people put effort in this, just to find out their job is useless. But hey. I can craft 7 powerful potions noone needs in the same money making way that people can provide with crafting Tier V armor with possible 600 GS outcome on comparison.
And its not a “bug” to me. It’s looks systematic. And if not, they just forgot to add those items for so many schematics. People invest time, golds and energy farming things they could never find.
I know this didn’t get a lot of attention beside the huge scandals over the past hours, but this is actually a scandal.
They can only address so much at the same time, each dev has a finite number of hours to work on a given bug/feature. They’ll be picking up the bugs from the backlog in the order of significance/importance and working through them, that’s not to say they are not aware of other bugs that currently exist in the game.
Well then it would be kinda useful at any point to have an overview of what’s on the radar. When I know they are on it, then I know that it’s worth putting effort in the crafting skills.
The possible outcome, that this is intended would be as scandalous as the point its even a problem.
It’s not like it’s a new bug or changed. This is just from the start of the game. There were few single posting in the forum where people noticed it and it got no attention.
So I am rly scared it will go unseen a while.
I think I didn’t make myself clear. Maybe cause my language skills are limited.
As I said. I am happy they addressed that.
But it’s little bit more than that isn’t it?
Just missing items and making it useless to go for that stuff isn’t about “oh I would love to craft that lvl 53 gauntlet now”. It’s about why is this even a thing…
Lack of these materials is probably connected to inability to hit 590-600 watermark. It is fixed now. I saw (in bug section if i remember correctly) some really in-depth explanation of this. In theory we should start seeing these materials after patch.
I do agree there is a huge gap between T1 resources and T5 resources in terms of actual value.
The game basically goes from Iron ore to Void Ore, everything else is skipped.
But that comes from the game being released in a solved a state. Everyone already knew to just wear trash until lv 60 buy your faction gear and your done
As an example: Pick from this list all the resources that are ever used vs. the ones that are just eating up my storage.
These are resource keys for the specific item, people have claimed to have gotten various ones from different places with varying luck. But I agree with you, there should be some statement about this.
But, just because they do not appear in the suggestion list in the Trade Post, does not mean they are not in the game. There are plenty of dungeon specific drops, resources ironically, that do not feature in the Trade Post search. Jade Collar and Corrupted Talisman as examples.
The problem with this is one which is pretty universal to many MMO’s. A lot of the crafting serves no other purpose than a leveling purpose. The game should provide some option to either upgrade these sort of ‘useless’ components to another tear, or provide some sort of salvaging with benefit really.
Alternatively, fix the disbalance between desirable and non desirable items. But this does lead to the problem of these leveling items becoming scarce, likely too scarce, for those still leveling.
Which brings me to why I am storing all the useless junk in the game in hopes that some day it will find value.
You are right, though most other popular MMOs you don’t cap level in a week. Not to say the crafting process for leveling is any better for these games either (FFXIV you skip crafting for poetics, WoW you just pay real money, you know that sort of stuff)
To be fair, ‘one’ doesn’t also really cap level in a week here either. Yes, I know there are some people who certainly have done this, but it’s not the standard. Especially not capping all trade skills. On some servers crafting a select number of crafting professions to cap is likely possible by purchasing the mats from the TP and just spamming through, but this doesn’t work on all servers. And once the economy settles down on servers with heavily deflated prices as well, it’s going to get more challenging to repeat this process.
Personally I see the crafting leveling, just like leveling gathered, as little more than a timegate to reduce the number of people who actually bring this to endgame levels, to keep this relevant. Being a dedicated gatherer/crafter takes time. It’s just a playstyle pick really. You’re usually either an endgame PvP’er, PvE’er or crafter. Sure you may mix and dabble a bit in another territory of endgame play. But majority of your time invested will nearly always be consumed by one of these three if you want to do it effectively enough.
I’m still waiting for patchnotes for the “final” version. I only see bugfixes which belong to alpha versions. From my perspective, they have done nothing since 5 weeks for the final product.
Not even fundamental changes regarding carry weight, storage space, broken economy and crazy high taxes. And we need new content soon.
Hire more dev teams, looks like development speed is way toooo slow.
