This whole conversation is anecdotal, I for one can say I haven’t seen anybody happy or pleased with this. I don’t know what people were expecting or wanting, but I fail to see the usefulness of any of this.

Yes, shame on y’all because this isn’t the first time this has happened, not just with New World but with so many other games in recent memory. It’s completely ok to have expectations, but those expectations were brought on by the public, not by the devs. To be angry at the devs because they didn’t deliver what the public thought they should deliver is just asking to be disappointed every time.

Community Managers control the hype. AGS controls the information they release. If they didn’t want hype trains to crash and burned, they would’ve set better expectations and not give false hopes and vague hints.
Do not put blame on us, the consumers. As they control what we consume.

ofc the xpectations were brought on by the public, bc it’s what some ppl wants. If they don’t say anything about it what do you expect? it’s something that got hundreds of requests…

You guys got like one community manager response and started actual rampages on the forums about fresh start this and fresh start that - anyone who disagreed was verbally attacked.
What did you expect was gonna happen? looking like goofies out here.

Ok this is simple looks like they still dont care about us at all. Fresh Servers is the reason why new World is getting so many people now it was insanely dead but thanks to Fresh Servers is alive again. So i hope by the day of the day or month we get something otherwise this game will DIE forever this time this guys are playing with FIRE !!!

We’d expect the Community Manager to set clear expectations and to temper the hype. Like what Community Managers do. That’s literally their job.

If they say nothing, I expect nothing. It’s easy. Just because I WANT something doesn’t mean I’m going to get it exactly when I want it. People seem to think that developing and implementing all of these things is an easy task when it’s not. This is a game that was SEVERELY flawed upon release that they are working on constantly. Please give them a break.

Its actually not their job at all to announce major changes to the game, just to engage with the forums to provoke thought, used as feedback for the developers.
“Community” Manager - not “Content” Manager
There aren’t going to be fresh start servers till they finish the leveling quests from 30-60. Only half of it is done. If they release it now, people are going to hop on, get to 30 and then complain and quit. Leaving the server (which you can’t transfer to) a complete mess.
I think one thing that hasn’t really been brought up is some people like to really plan ahead for stuff like freshs start servers. For instance, Wrath classic for some was treated like an actual expac release. You know, taking off, hording snacks, grouping up with friends etc etc. Fresh start servers have the potential to be MASSIVE for new world and they are kinda blowing it.
Fresh start servers isn’t really something to drop like " oh by the way they are next week" just doesn’t make any sense.

I never said it was their job to announce major changes. I said it was their job to set expectations when the Community gets over hyped or runs rampant. I fully understand what and how Community Managers work.

this was bad. Like in 3/10 bad. The recap and effort sure went great. Thats about it.
You let hype go to waste, you did not celebrate your own game in a positive way other than putting 5 min. of work into it and i am literally bamboozled if you have the balls to let such an event slip by…
Zero marketing effort, careful steps, no more mistakes, “brittle” attitdue where it matters imo. And all while i applaud you for turning the game around in a good direction, i really do.
Now is the time to go big. Put a load full of faith back into your system and consider these options:
- release info on Fresh Start Servers (FSS) before the weekend
- release FSS this weekend or next week
- create an event around NW’s birthday, give out skins and love
- have an actual discussion about the most trending forum topics, TALK about the issues, be transparent, do more surveys, simply put: wake up and show us, hype us, make mistakes with us, celebrate successes with us
I have every intention to hold up a mirror and show you how i perceive what you are delivering.
I am extremely happy about diving into this game - on FSS. Bring them! Celebrate them and i (maybe others) will celebrate you for it.

Didn’t said community manager say we would have more news in the coming weeks about fresh start server? Which was what, three weeks ago at this point? See how people were expecting more information.

Disappointed not to hear anything about fresh start but I found it interesting to hear what the devs are/were thinking nonetheless.
