No maintenance, no patch, no communication

I’m enjoying the game. Since I’m slowly levelling up, I haven’t hit any of the bugs that so many people are complaining about. I’ve played enough MMOs to know that the major bugs will be addressed in time.

Just because you are having a miserable time, doesn’t mean everyone is. Conversely just because I’m having a great time, doesn’t mean everyone else is either. But you need to accept that some people just like the game and are ok with waiting on the fixes.

Half of your perks and items don’t do the stuff they’re supposed to do. So yes, you’re definitely experiencing bugs, but you’re not aware of them.

Second, don’t speak for ‘everyone’.

I didn’t ‘expect’ downtime today and was surprised when people were posting about it when Amazon hadn’t announced any downtime. Don’t assume something that’s not been announced and complain when your assumption doesn’t pan out.

The amount of entitled complaining in these forums is so tiring.

Maybe you missed it, but Mugsy already apologized for the lack of communication and said they’ll tell us on Tuesdays if a maintenance is going to happen on Wednesday or not.

And as you can see, a lot of people were expecting a maintenance today. We basically settled this topic already and Amazon did take the blame for the underwhelming communication and said they’ll improve this. So… I wasn’t wrong with my topic.

No, Amazon wasn’t ‘wrong’. They caved. Yet more corporate reinforcement of bad expectations.

They literally said all of their people are working on the server transfer feature . . . but go off fam. The sheer amount of QQ regarding this game is ridiculous. I can’t wait for you all to give up and leave.

Ok, I guess I should have said, they are not impacting MY enjoyment of the game in any way. (I can’t speak to anyone else’s experience and honestly I don’t care about anyone else’s experience. I assume no one is holding a gun to anyone’s head forcing them to play a game that makes them miserable).

Are there some things I don’t like? Absolutely:

  • Taxes that can be raised to ridiculous levels by guilds,

  • Towns that don’t have the right tier of crafting stations

  • The fact that even when I do get to max level, if I’m not part of a territory controlling company the odds of getting to play in a war or invasion are slim

  • Downgrades from invasions/wars

  • Not being able to have more than one toon per server

  • Can’t modify the interface, or change chat colours which is a bit of a pain

  • and a few more.

But none of the things I don’t like are deal breakers for me. I still rate the game as fun to play.

This early after launch I expect bugs, and what feels like long waits for fixes (it’s the way the industry is, and false equivalencies regarding other industries don’t matter, because, in THIS industry that’s just how it goes).

So, I can either be miserable and focus on the things I don’t like, or I can focus on the things that I’m really enjoying and have faith that AGS will address most (no one addresses all) bugs in due time.

In the end, I’m having a great time with the things that are working and I don’t miss anything I’m not getting from the things that aren’t.

My point is that not everyone that isn’t furious and ranting thinks that AGS has done 100% perfect. In My opinion, they’ve done a good job, and made a product that I enjoy.

I (and likely others) are aware there are issues. But it’s only been a month, and I can wait. I’ve seen many MMORPGS get better (and worse) over time, and I’m looking forward to where this one goes.

I’m definitely not saying people don’t have the right to be upset and other’s opinions are just as valid as mine (and vice versa btw), but some people are losing their minds, over a game that costs $55. If that investment was so crippling that one’s world is turned upside down by some in game problems, then one has bigger issues than a few bugs.

There’s a maintenance today. It’s in the news and announcements section on this forum. Might want to check it for patch 1.0.4

Child, just because the company is not giving you every single detail that’s going on every single second of the day, doesn’t mean there’s been no communication. They’re working on it and they already said so multiple times, now the patch notes are out which you probably didn’t even look at lol and they’ve been consistent with the weekly patch notes and the patch lol what more do you cry babies want?

Emergency maintenance and Weekly maintenance ! this time was SUDDEN maintenance. No prior notice, 1 hour at least.

It was more than an hour. I was playing earlier in the day, at least 12 hours ago, and I saw the notice.
