There are a lot of logs, just look for “double” amount of change of coins in short times and ban all of them. And for duplication, same. Just look for item drop or gain logs and if there’s two same item, investigate further. No need for server wipe, this is happening a lot in MMOs. Basic queries.
needs further query specifications.
I have dozens of gems on the market for identical prices. based on your query if I sold 5 of them within a few seconds both myself and the buyer(s) would get banned.
needs more detailed criteria
You are totally right, but these items are dropped for you and should have a unique ID (like money IRL). Even for trade, they can backtrack everything. Server wipe is too much stupid idea for bringing (and they didn’t, some users did but just forget it)…
item’s don’t have “unique” ID’s you have a database with ItemIDAmount, that’s it… so if you have 1 or 10.000 they all look the same
and for those with specific “effects” on it is baked into the ItemID so an item with 10 different effects could be 0001001011 and it would have 4 effects enabled on it (it’s super simplified to make it easier to understand)
The duped items have spread throughout the economy, including into the hands of legit players. Territories have been lost through exploitation. Guilds of chump players in full voidbent spamming hatchets. Items have been sold and bought on the AH. Individuals soloing expeditions and elite areas with ease.
How long has this dupe been around but not widely known? The economic balance of this game has been nuked.
I am afraid that there aren’t two of the same item, but rather two different with updated quantity.
The game is a month old. There ISN’T an economic balance yet. The players determine the market because it’s entirely player driven. Duped items or not there aren’t enough max level players digging up max tier rares to form a market cap yet.
At worst the duping has formed a major inconvenience. Once it’s rectified the market will recover just like real markets do
Yeah as far as I’ve seen on my server which is the one with the guy with 7000 voidbent ingots the market has like stayed the same
Sure there are downsides that have happened no doubt but to the average player if we didn’t have any knowledge of this happening no one would have known the wiser
There were like 100 asmodeum on the trading post before the gold freeze happened and they were selling at like 500 each
Void ores were up from like 12-18k and there were 3 of them
Everything else was normal AF
Like there are defs people running around in duped armour no double but I think the actual spread of this duped stuff was kept pretty low key
Of course it was. Whatever companies were using it widely need gold but they also want to keep their edge.
