In early alpha this was a completely different game (in regards to PvP). You can blame the PvPers for ruining it for everyone else.
There should be risk … for PVP-Players. PVE-Players want their risk from mobs, not players. You don’t have to understand that, just accept it.
i don’t know about the luck machics in the game, but the XP-Bonus is already there. And the only reason we can’t give pvp-players big xp for player kills is because pvp-players would just endlessly abuse that system.
So again most problems pvp-players cry about are purely selfmade! How about changing yourself instead of changing the game for pve-players to suit pvp-needs!
That would alienate the pvers. I personally would not object to being flagged pvp when gathering in another factions territory as to me the factions need to be more integral to the game and have meaning, but then, while I am a pver I am not vehemently against pvp, I just hate the ganking that tends to go on.
GW2 PvP is mindless. You don’t have to aim your attacks
Why would you flag for PvP if not explicitly trying to do PvP. You just invite getting steamrolled by drive by PvP gank squads. Nobody ever starts a fair fight so why put a flag on saying “I want to be griefed”?
No shortage of PVP flags on my Server. Actually there is nearly always a PVP flagged corruption portal group running on my server almost 24/7. Multiple factions doing this.
I see PVP flagging as a server based issue. Some servers are dead for PVP some Alive. I come from one of the smaller low pop servers but we have plenty of PVP going on.
This is important, a big part of the problems with pvp isn’t about problems with the game, but problems with the pvp-player base. Either they are to few, or they don’t like pvp against other capable pvp-players. The first problem could be remedied with pvp-servers, the second one can’t be remedied exept giving pve-player an insane incentive to flag up and endure the ganking (and that would be followed by many resulting problems)

This is why they stopped working on a pvp survival game. No one actually wants their plans ruined by some russian guy that wants to pick a fight with you with his 20 level advantage. People want to gather and kill stuff alone and in peace. Well, most MMO players do. They knew this game would not survive if they stayed with their original plans.
PvP scaling was nice in the beta. The damage was scaled so a level 10 would do huge amounts of damage to a max level player. So they at least had a chance.
I already repeated this numerous of times. The issue isn’t PvP scaling, the issue is that there is no incentive, restriction, or punishment to stop high levels from killing low levels. Therefore, you better believe that most will stomp a newb the moment they can, especially because they’re of the opposite faction and you want to slow their progression as much as you possibly can.
- You shouldn’t get anything for killing low level players.
- Territories need a level cap for PvP so players of similar level could fight one another, like most other MMORPGs.
- Players need a bigger reward for having PvP enabled, such as yield increase from resources to make up for the risk.
You guys realize it’s a problem, but your solutions are bad. I’m not leveling and getting gear for nothing. You make levels and gear useless, then I would not only give up on PvP entirely, but I will just quit the game and so would everyone else.
Well the way they advertise in their front page at newworld.com sound like solo would be valid option also for PvP:
“fight alone, with a small team, or in massed armies for PvE and PvP battles—the choices are all yours.”
I don’t want to sound rude and sorry if it appears that way, but common sense comes a long way. Yes, you can PvP solo, but don’t expect fair fights. You can easily outnumbered and be defeated by stronger opponents. No feature can protect you from that. So grouping with people will help.
Ppl should stop lying that there is no pvp scaling. There is. It favors the higher level player as it should but doesn’t make it an impossible fight. I had hard fights against lower level players and easy fights vs higher lvl players.
And scaling is not a reason why ppl don’t flag. But because they don’t have to or don’t want to be disturbed. Once you’re higher lvl you don’t need to rush exp and obviously you flag up more often.

they will of course never admit that because they’re too proud and just put themself in the absolute denial of their own badness. Usual phrases are ‘pvp is bad designed in this game’ or that they ‘don’t want the 10% experience gain anyway because they wanna enjoy the game slowly while simultaneously asking how to level fast’
you can set your own respawner for the price of nothing, you absolutely lose nothing and I’ve never been camped while going for 1-60 with always pvp on
Right now, i’m enjoying the game well enough, but if they were to implement any of this auto-flagged pvp zone stuff i’d be gone and i’m sure many other players would leave as well. Also, if they start “compensating” pvpers just for being pvpers i’d get the hell out of here as well. You aren’t speclial snowflakes that should get special treatment because you want to harass other players. You already get an xp boost, you and other pvp minded gamers can already flag at will so coming here to sniffle about how you need more “incentive” is just bs. You want more because this is the generation of “Me me me”.
Gear is for PvE. Let me kill people naked.
At toon Creation page you should make a choose to pvp our PvE. After you choose pvp you stick with it and are always flagged.
Did a wrong choose then you can make a one-time switch.
And please add a pvp only part where you get high risk high reward.
PvE players already have tons of content.
The pvp loot must not be bop our BOE so our PvE brothers can buy those high risk/reward loot and they can make our pvp armour/weapon and buy from them.
PvE can run there content en pvp can run there content and sell there loot to each other.

Since when? There is a reason why loot drops when you kill players. If you want a strictly fair PvP game which relies on ranks rather than gear and levels, then there are others available. Why people keep coming to games and having them become stuff that already exists, doesn’t make sense to me whatsoever. There is a reason why you’re here and not playing those games, because those games are bad and people aren’t drawn to them.
