No Stakes/Practice Wars

I think what’s truly hurting the game the most is inability for a vast majority of the player base to not be able to get into war. With the severely limited war slots and territory, it’s difficult for any new players/companies to get war experience.

I know that the devs said they were working on implementing a practice wars system, but I think this needs heavy priority. One way this could be implemented is via a company matchmaking system. The idea is similar to Clash of Clan’s matchmaking system, where a company queues themselves up. Then it is paired up with another company that is also seeking war. Then, 1 to 2 days are given to prep for the companies.

With this edition, it opens up wars to players who previously couldn’t get in, giving them opportunities to learn without to worry about territory control. Player specific rewards are also still earned.

Thoughts?

I think after brimstone update, and then a month of bug fixing again this should be become priority number 1! Instead of company matchmaking it should become faction match making. This would be a HUGE game changer

How would faction matchmaking work though?

Hard to get 50v50 members unless you are a mega-company.

And all the mega companies basically do wars anyway because they have monopolised the servers for so long that it kills competition.

I don’t know any servers that have more than 300 players participating in wars. My speculation is that the numbers of players doing wars at least once a week on each server is around the 200 mark.

Having said that there definitely needs to be more inclusivity in wars. There is obviously demand for it. The whole war and territory system needs an overhaul.

They have already said in one of the Dev videos that they are working on “casual wars” or skirmishes or whatever they want to call them. I expect this may be on the roadmap for the not so distant future.

A 20v20 or 30v30 would be awesome. Maybe faction v faction isnt the best idea. maybe for started just let us queue up for war like opr and refine it overtime. As for territory control they need to do some kind of overhaul to it

I think the way it was explained is it will be a queue like OPR, people can queue solo or as a group and it will kick off as soon as they have enough people signed up (however many that is).

:beers:

And I strongly disagree with that setup, as it will just be like normal OPR. I want to actually choose my team rather than have randoms assigned to me. At least give us the option of company based matchmaking anyways. It needs to be company based queuing honestly.

This absolutely

Would rather choose a full 50 to practice with, instead of randoms

The idea of picking a full roster kinda falls in the area of whats in the game now. mega companies would still queue as a 50 stack. Maybe removing the declare cost and make it easier to push influence is another good idea

The idea of practice wars would be to practice.

Practicing with 50 randoms, without consistent coms, would be absolutely horrible.

I agree. It would be no better than OPR. In fact, I feel OPR could be made better if it was company based matchmaking, or at the least allow for 20 man groups.

This 1000000%

Maybe not practice wars, but they need to open up war to more players… period.

Whether that’s war frequency increasing, removing the invasion from the same timer,
making the neutral zones contestable, whatever steps need to be made that every
player that wants to participate in a war can through reasonable means.

We can talk about alot of issues in this game, but I 100% believe that the lack of available war slots is the absolute biggest thing that has caused the player decline. This should have honestly been a day 1 feature.

It was for a lot of people, myself included.

Yep.

And this could even lead to a new influence system where the more you win these “skirmishes”, the more influence you earn to be able to declare on a territory.

Make your own guild, recruit, make money, declare war, ???, profit

I think each territory can jave faction declare a battle 40v40 on that territory. Winners get a good chunk of influence like 20% on that territory. Only like 2-4 a day you declare at certain time periods.

People are getting bored with repeatable PvE content. AGS should give some love to PvP game modes: casual wars, CTF, new OPR maps, 5v5s maybe

Agree. Having the only viable end game content is gatekeeped to 80% of the player base is NOT the way to retain players…
