Wow just wow, now first off watch your tone. YOU ARE WRONG, I’m going to expose you for the ignorant person you are.
FFXIV has normalized equalized gear PvP. Not only that, but in FFXIV, it restricts what abilities you can bring and use from your class in that MMO’s PvP.
In Eve Online, somebody who’ve brought an 100,000,000 SP 8 year old account that is shit, will lose to a gifted PvPers who only has an 3 month 12,000,000 SP account. Because gear and SPs is not the whole of the game. Like New World, Arche Age, Bless, Eylon, and the such.
Also normalized PvP does exist in Eve Online. It’s called Faction Warfare. You can only take upto certain ships in each spot. Unless you go do an uncapped Faction Warfare zone.
Explains why no one cares about it. Refer to previous cat girl/pve comment.
Now let’s explain why what you just said about Eve is wrong. I happen to have spent a number of years in that game. (I bet you haven’t) I’ll even use your faction warfare example to prove you wrong.
Let’s say you are a fresh new player who got the 1M sp for being referred and find me in a plex in fw. Let’s make it spicy and say it’s in Tama. Let’s then say you’re running faction weapons and dead space modules because you swiped your credit card for Plex and had isk to burn which a new player wouldn’t.
You jump in and tackle me with your blingy Cormorant and unleash your federation navy blasters pop drugs and over heat while working up transversal. Me in my cheap af all tech 2 (which you can’t use because you don’t have the sp) Cormorant does the exact same only because my gunnery skills are maxed out I do more damage with each shot. At the same time because of trajectory analysis and surgical strike etc your transversal means less and I get wrecking shots while you get grazing hits. Then on top of that my navigation skills are better so even with the exact same prop mod I go much faster than you so I dictate the range profile of our fight.
So here we are both shooting. I’m faster doing more damage have more tank repair more efficiently and have greater agility. Then you notice you have to stop over heating because your shit is burned out but since my thermodynamics is 5 I’m good for 20 more seconds. You die.
Saying faction warfare is normalized because you fly the same class of ship is beyond ignorant. You’re skills still matter. The ability to fit better mods from skills you trained still matter. This was most pathetic attempt to try and prove yourself right I’ve ever seen you clearly have no clue wtf you’re talking about.
Try again.
Edit- even more ignorant is you trying to justify your example with breaking the tos of the game you’re trying to make an example of. You’re not allowed to buy an account in Eve. Trying to compare rmt to player who follow the rules doesn’t work.
Right there you discredit your whole statement. Because I clearly said 12M SP not 1M like you are trying to say. You can get to 12M SP in Eve Online well before the 100 hour of in game grinding mark. By doing T1 abyssals and working your way up.
Also faction repair and modules in most cases. Outside of weapons have like 15% to 20% more stats than T2 modules, just saying.
So your frustrated friend who never hit 60 wants to “normalize” pvp when they came back to the game? Why did they leave the game to begin with? I agree maybe 1 game mode for normalized pvp but all in all this is a mmorpg. Also I have seen 540gs healers top heal in wars as alts. The gap isnt as big as people make it. What your friend wants is a different game.
No they don’t lol. The A types are generally 8% stronger with the x type mods being maybe 10%. The draw to using those modules is that they don’t require the skills that the tech 2 modules do and they generally use less power grid and CPU when fitting them.
You’re linking the character Bazaar like a new player is going to have 100 billion isk to even consider buying that… Go ahead and swipe for that Plex. It’s going to cost you about 2 grand tho. Those are my favorite type of player to find, they always drop the good shit.
Just stop dude. You can’t be this stupid… The amount of reaching you’re trying to do is outrageous. There is no normalized pvp in Eve online.
I’m pretty sure that’s all most ask for. Just one venue with normalized PvP. But all of the gatekeepers that enjoy ganking lvl 1s on that beach are like. “Oh hell to nah nah, you shouldn’t stand a chance in any PvP because you didn’t do the hundreds if not thousands of hours of PvE grind to be a factor.” Hence why when New World switched to this nonsense more than 99% of the player jumped ship.
People in mass came for the PvP. And when the Devs and the no-lifers and try-hards told them no. After accepting their money. New World became less populated than most niche games.
This is my whole damn point. It’s less than 5% of a power difference between 600 and 625. It was proven to be closer to 3% in one of the videos I watched. Most of the people crying about gear are just bad and refuse to admit it. It’s much easier to blame gear than it is to realize you are the problem and need to improve.
Not true at all, the gap between 625 and 600 is much larger than 5%. I wish people would stop spreading this rumor. With how many bugs and issues this game has had and the patches changing things so much each month, and all the different combinations of weapons and armor and builds… there is no reliable way to test everything and get a confirmed % difference in that short of a timeframe. If it was actually only a 5% difference between 625 and 600 you wouldn’t have seen the mass PvP exodus and people complaining so much on the forums. They would probably be playing the game and having fun PvPing. And there wouldn’t be so many posts asking for AT LEAST ONE (1) form of normalized/scaled PvP.
I already answered that. It’s easier for people to believe the problems lie somewhere else rather than solely with them. There have been major war companies create alts on other servers and beat out the current governors with most of their members in the war being sub 600 while the defenders were all geared. There are vods up go watch. Gear isn’t everything buy I do feel 590 should be the ground level at 60 not 500.
Because we have seen where this shit goes. It’s not new. They cried for it in wow. When they got it it was universally despised and they walked that shit back like Michael Jackson in thriller. Once they get one mode and it fails they’ll cry again that they need opr and it’s on to wars and then open world. They never stop. It doesn’t belong. Progression has to mean something or there is no point in spending your time progressing.
Also it is very true. For armor its right below 5% DMG reduction from 600-625. It’s been tested in multiple ways by multiple people. Unless something is broken (what are the chances??? Lol) those are the numbers.
This. Moment they add ranked then should make normal pvp models normalized. Like just scale what player has to 625GS or what is max. No need to add missing perks on armor or anyting. Just scale up equipment so power difference will be minimal.
Show the proof please, I would love to see current patch numbers considering there has been 2 months to “test” them. I heard the 5% nonsense like 6 months ago and people still tryin to use and defend it. Tested in multiple ways by multiple people literally means nothing in a game this big and buggy that changes every single month.
And I would never expect any perks or numbers to be wrong considering all the previous patches/bugs…(sarcasm)
remember the old resilient? shirking? those are a couple of very high impact ones…
If I find time I will link the videos I’m talking about. You can easily find them on YouTube though. The guy incrementally levels his armor testing damage mitigation along the way.
You can argue that this isn’t a perfect method etc but it’s the best we have access to. And you can argue that numbers are broken and there are bugs etc but we can still get an educated estimate out of what we have.
We need way more people like that guy running numbers to actually figure out what the % difference is. Maybe I will test a few things this next patch, it just feels like a waste of time though.
I think this would just add another band-aid in an attempt to cover the gaping wound that is expertise. They just need to remove it at this point no more ways around it just get it out. When you hit 60 you are started at 590 and can get straight into the gypsum system.
