New World giveth and taketh away, or in this case taketh away and giveth.
This might be a “TLDR” post but just a funny lil thing I experienced on the game over the last month or so. Before anyone says anything, I’m not looking for advice or anything like that. Just sharing a story that I found funny how it all worked out. Just a post to break up the monotony of complaints and other usual forum BS.
So about 1-2 months ago I had been putting together my template for my heavy lifestaff/hatchet character. It involved trying to upgrade piece by piece. When doing so I had messed up and my old pants had focus on them and the new pants I got had con on them. So because of that I had to get a new hatchet that had 30 focus instead of the 20 focus and 10 con that my old hatchet had. Again, not looking for a solution here, but basically I ended up making myself short by 10 focus from having 300 focus and 160 con by making that mistake on my pants.
I tried looking on the TP every day but I never saw any leggy hatchets with 30 focus. So I saved up 100 asmodeum, 20 ebonwood, and 10 runic leather, 10 refreshing move charms, and 100 softwood prayer beads and had a guy make me 10 hatchets. The 10th one was a leggy! I was so excited! I then ran off to go put my topaz gem in it to make it 50% nature and realized that it had fire chain on it, which meant I couldn’t use my gem. Now I was bummed. I had just spend so much time and money getting the ingredients to end up with a hatchet that would do horrible damage.
Oh well! I told myself to get over it and get back to saving up. So I saved up another 80 asmo, 16 ebonwood, and 8 runic leather, 8 more refreshing move charms, and another 80 softwood prayer beads. Had the same guy try em and I ended up with 8 purple hatchets. One had a couple decent perks so I used it till I could save up some more stuff.
Yesterday I decided to hop on just for a lil bit and check out the TP. I am scrolling through and find a leggy hatchet with 30 focus on it and no elemental chain associated with it. The best part, 500 gold!! FIVE HUNDRED GOLD!! I spent 4 times that amount on ONE refreshing move perk. Now I will admit that I will probably still save up more materials to try and get a hatchet with refreshing move, but it just cracks me up that after spending probably 30,000-40,000 in gold to try and make a leggy hatchet and ended up with bumpkis, I then find a hatchet that will work for 500 gold.
