Not a fan of these balance changes

Face it people they do not give one crap about what we think… This we continue to monitor and will adjust accordingly is new world CSR trained responses… The Game is Dead look at the server drop off by the time they fix anything they wont have a player base to play the damn game

The amount of items need for levelling any profession is insane. 85 starmetal armors to rise from 130 to 133 on armorsmith…85… have you devs any idea how much time do you need to farm those materials? at least 6 to 8 hours! and why didn’t we buy it? because we are broken due no gold, insane amount of repari/house/tax expense. And i remeber the broken chests on myrkard andd mines…Those changes you have done are good only for whoever has rushed the first weeks. We tried to enjoy the experience and it’s seriously ruined. Re-roll the old crafting exp! and listen your player base who struggle to keep play it…

So I guess you got 200 before the nerf and now you tell everyone this is fine, you can’t reach my level as easy as I did.

Tbh, you had TONS and TONS of feedback, some junk, but a lot of serious players/streamers gave long dedicated text addressing most of the ridiculous changed you guys made and it was completely ignored. Come on, you cant ask for more detailed feedback.
Xaryu for example gave videos as well as post, you guys didnt even change 1% of all the tentative changes… almost like a bad meme

you actually got armour from Myrk?!?!

I have two 60s and my first watermark is around 560. I honestly didnt do too many endgame activities with him. My second character has not been able to break 526 item level on any slot and I’ve played her much more for multiple weeks now. It honestly feels like they vastly slowed progression since 1.05 or that my character is somehow stuck broken at an artificially low item level.

I made a new character to escape a dying server and so that I could correct mistakes (deleting armor for quests) I made leveling up my first character.

What I didnt realize was how obnoxious and terrible the end-game systems would still be on a larger server. It feels even worse now. End-game progression for me is now wading through games of Outpost Rush (made terrible by the rampant bots/afkers) and getting gold to buy 590 pieces of the auction house. Nothing is dropping for me above 526 item level and most items that drop seem way lower than they should in high level areas. Sometimes I even get sub 500 pieces.

Most “solo” farm places have 10+ players/botters camping them due to youtube videos advising people about these solo friendly spawns/areas. 5man Group content is still done in massive zergs but now with giant 40man pvp flagged groups because people want the luck bonus but not the risk. Doing dungeons is pointless until my watermark gets higher but again it feels stuck at a low level.

Until they fix the botting and end-game there’s no reason to keep playing this game.

I am at 600 for armour and 590 for most weapons. Since before the patch.

After patch, there is almost zero opportunity to run Myrk in a small group, randoms pull mobs and zergs run through too often. And they now are more of a kill threat. It’s not a controlled environment.

I had zero usable/sellable drops. Zero purple armour. A bigger percentage was even lower GS than before patch. So loot is less, lower average GS, and more green. Even the 580-600 pieces I got, I will probably not put up on AH, because most of them don’t sell, so might as well get the 3 gold for it.

PS: thank you AGS for making 600 green items a commonplace thing. It’s a real slap whenever I see that in my inventory.

Yeah I did. It was trash greens and greys under my watermark. And it was 5 total

They didn’t get such a big reaction in previous patches. Now they realize that they have to do something. Because they are aware that if they don’t listen to us again, the game will die.

You’re looking at it wrong. It would have nothing to do with mode or flagging. It would be the entity being effect against an entity type. Is it another player, then it will have X effects, is it an environmental enemy, then it will have X effects. So an AOE attack that hits both a player and AI enemy could have different effects against both at the same time.
You would not be going into PVP mode and having all new skills against everything… the PvP effects of those skills would just be what happens when attacking, or defending, against a player entity vs an environment enemy.
It would be a massive undertaking, it wouldn’t be something that happens fast (if done right), but it would be well worth it for longevity and balance.

AGS says it is planning to change A to B (it is in the PTR). The consensus feedback is please don’t change A to B. AGS then releases the change A to B and so ignores the feedback.

Listening to the consensus (super majority) in the above example would’ve simply required AGS to do nothing (by not releasing the change). This kind of ignored feedback is what makes PTR a monologue (AGS IS going to do this) and not a dialogue with NWs players (AGS MAY do this, what do you think).

Nerfing healers - Terrible idea. They are unplayable now in both PvE and PvP. And they were already a frustrating support-only class.

Buffing mobs - Equally terrible idea, but doubly so when paired with the fact that healers are worthless now. Triply worse when paired with light armor and miserable, unreliable server performance. Four times worse when you take into account the previous loot nerfs for elite zones.

For every step forward, the game takes 2-3 steps backwards. This isn’t how you iterate on a game design, especially one that is supposed to be “released”.

New World wants to be an MMO action game… but it doesn’t work because of a combination of server performance and bad game/mob/encounter design that seems to have been meant for traditional idle-MMO gameplay rather than action-mechanics. Light armor doesn’t work because big fights are both excessively chaotic and laggy, robbing players of the ability to overcome with skill and agency. Starting at about level 40, these problems start to manifest and compound, resulting in an end-game that is frustrating, seemingly unfair, and just plain unfun. And making everything worse, Amazon seems to be making “balance” decisions based on the whining and demands of toxic griefers rather than actual metrics or game experience… while also failing to expediently punishing cheaters and exploiters and also failing to balance the faction & territory control mechanics.

New World is full of neat, lofty, even good ideas. But it’s a dumpster fire of brokenness, and rather than getting better, it’s getting worse.

Its already done just like this in BDO, skills scale differently against monsters than they do against players. If AGS just had any interest in keeping their game alive by balancing skills and weapons separately PVE/PVP. The gameplay would be amazing!

Bump.

This. This is exactly how I feel but I’m fed up now. At this point I just want Great Axe World to die. These ass hats don’t deserve success!

I think it’s good feedback, people don’t like the changes you guys made to bow. How is that not good feedback.

Your response to that feedback was to ignore it though. All feedback is good feedback. You don’t get to pick and choose what is good feedback and what is bad.

I think you choose to ignore negative feedback because it doesn’t suit you.

 just giving up? Healers got nerfed too
working on my set to get the most out of it because I still enjoy the game. Game is a work in progress

First off THANK YOU for all the communication man, feels like you spent a whole day on this thread which is awesome. Communication is great. I do have a few problems with things said and a few frustrations (not pointed at you in ANY way):

  1. You keep talking about “balance a live thing, keep iterating, and listen to feedback”. The thing is you made changes that nobody likes, people had tons of feedback on the PTR for things NOT yet implemented, so you can’t really say “it’s gonna take time to balance” when talking about changes you haven’t yet implemented. Now that they are live you say “it will take time to change them” Well why did you make them in the first place when TONS of people said it was not a good idea? That’s my confusion, you keep talking about something YOU (as a company) implemented DESPITE feedback. That’s why people feel ignored. You DID do changes, just very wrong ones.
  2. Who in the first place decided to do these balance changes?? This is where the trust falls completely apart in the competence of the people in charge of balance. Who thought it was a good idea to nerf so many masteries/skills on a SINGLE weapon? No game does that unless they rework a whole class. You nerf/buff gently, by a couple of % here and there not destroy a weapon… Overpowered weapons got a buff??? (I know it’s in a different skill tree than the “meta”) How do you decide to kill one weapon that just had its 90% of bugs fixed and not touch another weapon that has been prevalent since day 1.
  3. Now this is me BEGGING, please PLEASE do not release any more content before you fix all the new broken things, do another sweep of balance changes. Trophies are still untradable… market is down in the EU (yeah it’s only been a day), masteries/skills are not working, gems are STILL not working (amber) since day one. Void gauntlet has broken perks (Orb removing ALL buffs). Healing in this game is an atrocity, unresponsive and UI is … lacking. (I only speak of things I personally know so I assume there is plenty more)

I hope all this makes sense.
