Not a fan of these balance changes

My comments were about what feedback is most helpful.
Please understand that even though we may not comment on all of the feedback we receive we do gather them into our reporting.

most things that they changed are ALL the things people cried the hardest about

?? players cried hardest on lifestafe, ice gauntlet, firestaff, gaxe, hammer.
non of which was even adjusted.

so …idk what the heck u’re talking about…

then i advice you to read older topics.
Its all on this forum.
Will take you a day or 3 thou.

Please understand that New World is a live game that will continue to change over time, there is no final form. I understand that each patch feels like a final statement on things like balance but again, these things will continue to change over time, driven by data and feedback.

The Myrk change was a very underhanded and sneaky move made devs, period.

If specific changes like the Myrk buffs given to bosses and telemetry are made. 25-30 people for minimum is Myrk? We need to be able to make raids and coordinate better.

Firestaff feels bad, really bad after this nerf.
Lifestaff healing nerf is bad, Genesis? Second boss hurts like hell to begin with and now the boss and mobs do wayy to much damage.

PTR: We, as testers, Need to know specific changes to test balances and give specific feedback for changes.

This patch besides void gauntlet feels bad. This game is in bad shape. PVE is nearly dead. Myrk and other chest runs were essentially an unintended way to play, but people still enjoyed sneaking around and getting chests.

Do any devs actually play this game to understand how bad it’s getting on our end? Please, slow down before this game is dead.

Servers are already getting low, not neccessiarly a good idea to add brutal morale destroying content.

There’s a lot to unpack here.

I understand folks are frustrated. We are listening, we are collecting feedback from not only the PTR but on the live game as well. I understand that only when that feedback produces changes that are created, tested, and implemented will you believe we were listening. That unfortunately can take time.

Sorry for nerfing your FS, but there are thousands too that back it up in the feedback of PTR, same with GA, it receive the most complain but there’s also some that defended it, the sneaky patches are what affected players the most, like the nerf in the bow, the myrk buffs, and elite chest nerf

i can only speak for the bow because that is my weapon of choice to main. Also its not my job to keep track of everything that is wrong or broken in the game, would drive me nuts. For bow specifically tho, i can assure you that the only feedback that has been taken into account are related to actual glitched skills and perks. Anything else has made thru to the game, not a single request or sugestion. So on this regard i do belive it would not hurt at all to throw some words of clearance on what direction the dev team wants to take it, so we dont be hanging in here thinking that its gonna stay like this forever.

Feedback works best as a back and forth communication, not as an only one way streat.

Most players with low watermark or under 200 professions feels stabbed in the back with this patch and you guys finally post on the one forum post where the original poster provided zero substance.

I think what frustrates people the most is that this forum post received immediate GM response while other more detailed posts look ignored.

Maybe don’t ninja nerf/buff things and ninja change the looks of armor. PTR is supposed to show ALL of the stuff you are doing. Your company used it as a hype server then put in a bunch of stuff that you didn’t tell anyone about until the patch day or didn’t say at all. Just revert all the changes and add the void gauntlet and the combined AH. That’s all you need to do. Us PTR testers told how bad these systems were and put in SO much feedback. AGS just ignored it.

And to be fair with you, i did like many of the changes/QoL/new features that came in with this update, there is a lot of good stuff there that was needed. I am sure most players did too. However a many of the changes regarding to weapons and pvp didnt make sense or were in the oposit direction of the feedback that had been put forward.
Let me give you a practical example:
they changed Rapid Shot bow skill cooldown from 20 seconds to 14 seconds. This buff is so broken that if i put on a full refreshing perk gearset i can have this skill cooldown reset before the end of the skill annimation with the rapid accuracy perk selected on the mastery tree. You literally turned bow into an arrow machine gun and you think this is a good balance? well, this is something that was supposed to be beneficial to me and still i can see how broken it is and i am here reporting it for the second time.

this x1 billion

If you would do this, this patch would never have seen production.
There are hundred of comments and analysis on the PTR forum - all ignored.

I understand you are just community manager without leverage to the dev decisions, but dont sell us for being stupid please.

I understand that because the feedback was not implemented in the next release it feels like it was ignored. Only when changes are created, tested, and implemented will it feel like feedback is heard.

we understand it takes time, and we rather you guys take all the time you need to test, and implement all the feedbacks than rush the PTR to live when majority of the players that have tested the PTR are already unhappy about it.
there’s literally thousands of negative feedbacks regarding to many changes,
why would you guys still go ahead and launch PTR version of the game to live when majority of the players who tested the PTR were unhappy with the changes?
couldve just hold off the release, and wait for all the implementation is in place then release?
you guys literally brought all our hopes up, thinking that this time will be different, then trash it down to the ground.

I want to address the idea that we used PTR as a “hype server”. Having content go into a PTR prior to release is the opposite of hype. It actually prevents us from marketing changes effectively, but it is more important to us that we invest in testing, bug squashing, and feedback more than create hype.

It may go a long way to give players an idea of AGS current stance on weapon balance for each of the weapons. We have almost nothing to go off of, much of the feedback wasn’t implemented, and complaints are met with “We see the feedback,” if anything.

Does AGS not realize that Greataxe is the most popular and strongest weapon by a huge margin? Does AGS not know that bow is hot garbage, and that Hatchet is almost useless?

When you give us no information or recognition for the issues being brought up consistently and en masse, and simply respond with “We see your feedback,” that tells us nothing about how future balance will be addressed. Players want recognition on all issues – not just bugs, but balance, too. A simple “We understand that there are concerns about how prevalent and effective Greataxe is in PvP, and are looking to identify causes and solutions” would go miles with your playerbase.

it‘s not true at all… fire staff is still playable, ice gauntlet got nerfed, yes, but you are not able to jump out of the ice shower anymore, which is a great buff! lifestaff is still strong enough, if you can‘t keep your teammate’s health up, then maybe swap to medium / lightarmor and focus on also casting some targeted spells. it‘s not easy i know. but i am still healing everything, and yes sometimes you will need potions, that‘s new world not a different game…

This is time that should have been taken before the patch. And should have been communicated, at the very least, at the time of patching. That is precisely what the test server and patch notes are explicitly for, is it not?

While you wait for us to believe you’re listening, make sure you watch your telemetry for players who give up because it’s too late to catch up.
