Not a fan of these balance changes

Seriously, fire mages are still wrecking people with their aoe I’m a war just last night! They are FINE.

Life staff HEAVY players were nerfed. Why? Because the devs have said since day 1 that they want the best healer to be in light armor. Was that the case before 1.1? No. All healers went heavy because it was meta, knowing that it wasn’t by design. And now that it’s corrected… PANIC. When all you need to do is go back to the medium or light armor you would’ve chosen naturally at the start.

Stop complaining, go play the game, and give it a try.

I am beginning to feel disheartened with the game and I think your response highlights the reasons for my key issues.

That’s data. Ones and Zeros. It doesn’t show player passion, determination or demonstrate the fun factor. All you seem (and I mean seem) to do is look at the numbers. You see watermark progression, and crafting progression “operating outside of expected parameters” and you blanket nerf both.

I do wonder how many of your team log on to the game in the evening after work, excited to reach that next level or milestone and honestly think “you know what? This needs to take 3 to 10 times longer. It needs to be more grindy, maybe even a group activity!”.

I’d be interested to see the results of the survey too. I know that my response was that I felt crafting was “just right”. Because it was. You say you are listening to feedback, and I have no reason not to believe you, but I am really struggling with this one.

I’m a crafter, it’s what I enjoyed doing. I only have 4 skills left to max. But now I log on, stare at my crafting page, and sigh. I simply cannot bring myself to progressing them.

The endless hours of mining, trying to scrape together some coin so that I can purchase the refining materials instead of spending 8 hours gathering them. Trying to find somewhere to store them even remotely close to the few places that have the station tiers to refine them… all for a couple of points towards my goal.

So yeah, now I log in, stare at a window, and chat to the few friends that I have made. This game is just a pretty chat lobby for me. It’s a real shame.

I’m going to log back in now, as the maintenance is over. I’ll see if any of my friends are online, and if they aren’t I’m going to see if I have the stomach to try and gather the 64207 Orichalcum ore, 74085 Starmetal, 41621 Iron Ingots and 34247 Obsidian flux that I need to level one of my skills. Sounds like fun right?

To add to this, this is actually the first MMO I’ve played since I started playing them in 2003 that I felt the dev team doesn’t test anything or has any clue how to balance anything. It really is like you have zero QA team and really no one on the team has even played an MMO. Being 100% honest with you in saying the dev team and the people that should be giving them player feedback has 100% failed in every aspect. They have to realize that this is no longer alpha and beta and making drastic changes making things harder 2 months into a game is gating new players and goes against any logical philosophy in any game.

You open a PTR for players to test your game, This should be only used for things a QA team missed NOT THE ENTIRE TESTING PROCESS. You failed to read the forums where people addressed how bad the balance mistakes were on the PTR and during alpha phases, you will see your player base reflect that in the coming weeks. You guys manage to turn a game that could have been the best MMO of the last few years into a pile of junk by simply the lack of understanding of games.
This isn’t an “I quit” post Because I’ve already uninstalled with 40% of my company tonight. Sad to see since I’ve played every alpha since October 2018 Congrats on your speed run to the fastest MMO death.

Didn’t the crafting changes try to improve this by making it much more worthwhile to craft more advanced things?

I realize you need lower tiers to make the higher tiers, but as a crafter I buy the lower tier ores and focus on gathering refining mats and higher tier stuff. I do that with profits from selling my craft, particularly tools.

Yesterday’s patch was so exciting for me it honestly felt like launch day all over again. There is a buzz on the server with all the new stuff and so many broken things now fixed.

I’m sorry you feel this way but I honestly feel that the folks who just weren’t meant for this game are being separated from those of us who actually love it and want to see it succeed.

The changes they made were for good reason, for the most part. If you’re upset that they used data over player forum screaming… And you ignore the actual previous state of these weapons (which you are)… Then maybe it’s best you go.

They’re fairly easy to craft and they have a high power level. The trade post will be flooded within a week and everyone and their uncle will have a powerful 600 GS weapon.

Weapons are more important for a player’s power - hence the crafted weapons being BoP.

You can still craft legendary weapons that are BoE, if you have all possible crafting bonuses.

Those are the numbers for the 788 Ori Kite shields I need to make

What? You mean “I don’t like it, nope not one bit!” isn’t detailed enough?! Man, some people are so hard to please :smirk:

You meant max one of your skills. I’m a crafter too. I think you fail to see the benefits of the new changes (watch a yt video on how things work now). Craft higher tier stuff get better xp. As for progression, reaching 200 in a trade skill should be 10 times harder than reaching 60. Not done in a day. Not done in a week.

Ok but shouldn’t it be a grind to get max crafting? Shouldn’t it be something that not everyone will stomach? Something that then you feel is an accomplishment and provides value to you that it doesn’t for others?

I know for our company weaponsmith, we shower him with mats and all the bonus gear we find … Because his effort means we don’t need to grind it.

Ok, as someone in the endgame here is my detailed feedback. The fire staff and ice gauntlet nerfs were a little overboard, and what i mean by this is that i no longer pay attention to people who use them in pvp… I don’t have to make decisions because there damage output is now so low it doesn’t matter to me, like i just wade on through ice storm… sure it slows me down but its not like its going to kill me. Now on to the Bow, it just feels weak to use. The Aoe skills are underwhelming they lack in power and have to long of cd’s they are even weaker than ice IMO and i know very few pvp’ers that would prefer the bow gameplay over the musket. Now to close all this, this is just my opinion and i dont use any of these weapons… hope thats what your looking for.

I try to get my gf to shower me but she says she’s not into it.

A fire staff mage who is freely casting aoe from a sideline is a dangerous threat in a war. IMHO it can’t be ignored and in our wars we don’t ignore them, including last night.

Last night was a lagfest and so a poor test, but fire mages reigned supreme in damage when everyone was lagging out lol.

Riiiiiiight, do you even play the game? Everyone is running in Heavy Armor /w Greataxe/Hammer or if you want to be ranged play Musket or Voidgauntlet. Everything else is useless now.

Nerf the IG more. I just did 6 damage 35% slower.

Are you all playing great axe, or what?

Oh the damage numbers look good , but it’s all dot damage, it’s not like they will out heal the healers on point, 1.5million damage and 8 kills didnt realy help imo. (Just an example)

Thank you.

I know people are.

The weapons aren’t balanced. Closer, but not balanced.

Musket and Void will get their own changes if they are proving to be too powerful, the same goes for GA and Hammer. Like yourself, just provide great feedback so the Dev’s can see the scale of the issue.

Calm down, it’s been less than 24 hours.

First let me say I appreciate you trying to “sort this out” (couldn’t find a better way to say it) and your replies are way better than what I read from your Community moderators so far. So thank you for that.

Now the PTR was up only a week before the release. Which is quite short. But even within this short amount of time it was clear that a big part of the comments were negative. So I really don’t understand why moving forward with the update except maybe shooting yourself in the foot. I also completely understand that the game is continuously evolving but by pushing a “bad” update you are going to push players out of the game as unfortunately a lot of them will not wait a month for another major update. And if you want to keep them you will have to rush smaller updates with the risk of introducing even more bugs or changes that don’t align with players.

To try to be more useful I have the impression this update had “naive” solutions to problems instead of addressing the root of the problem. For example (not limited to but it is what I am playing so I can give feedback) Disclaimer I am a casual pve player and I like to be a healer.

You introduced a boost of luck in PVP. According to your patch note this was meant to be an incentive to do more pvp. You have two groups in your game, pvp players who already do pvp by definition and pve players who don’t. So you are trying to get pve players to do pvp. But if pve players don’t do pvp do you really think it is because it is not rewarding enough? Did you ask pve players why they are not doing pvp? Is it because they just don’t like it? Because they find it unfair? Stressful? etc. What you did is put a carrot hoping it will work but not addressing the root. By doing so, yes you made pvp players happy (good), you made pve players unhappy (bad) did you achieve the goal of convincing pve players to do pvp? probably not (bad).
Personally, I don’t do pvp because open world pvp is rarely fair (Too many factors such as weapon efficiency, character level) that can give an advantage to a player. For the rest of the pvp I am not opposed to it but when I play video games it is because I want to chill. And pvp tends to be more demanding. Finally, (in my experience, might not be true for everyone) pvp brings a competitive environment that combined with internet turns toxic.

You had issues with heavy healers in pvp being too powerful in war. I don’t know if it is true but I can only trust pvp players on that. So the update brings a nerf to the heal. Did you succeed? It seems so (good). But also broke the pve (bad) as healers have to play in heavy (not by choice but just to be able play the game) because of the agro. I also bring a question: is it even balanced for duels? Since you want people to flag, every weapon should have a fair chance to win a duel. Can a healer win in light armor against a great axe? Probably not. So healers cannot go out alone and gather stuff.

There is way more than just this but I don’t have the “experience” to talk about them This post is bigger than I expected, sorry
