I’m a Marauder and my server is slowly being taken over by Syndicate. It looks like no-one is fighting back so it will eventually become all purple. My travel costs and living expenses are skyrocketing and for some dumb reason I am not allowed to switch to Syndicate even though we can only do it once every 120 days anyway.
What am I supposed to do now? Just sit and watch how my faction is losing all territories, lose all travel bonuses and never ever be able to switch to Syndicate if the situation doesn’t change?
This is going to happen anyways with server transfers. People will just pick a server where their faction dominates and transfer over. There is no balance to it. Soon enough you will see servers with 100% of one faction. You could even change factions on your server where they aren’t the dominant, then move to one where they are.
And you know what? That’s good. Because the penalty to people who can’t even get involved in the territory changes shouldn’t exist.
since they opened transfers awhile ago, my faction has owned zero territories . all the big companies left (also exploits playing a big part). traveling around has been a big burden.
They’re already disappearing. I think people that played greens are gone as the server gets emptier each day.
I don’t do PvP, which is why it’s annoying that I have to pay for other people’s politics. I know the whole territory capture is part of the game but as it stands those who don’t participate in PvP activities get shafted by being forced to be on the losing side.
Bunch of losers marauders are. Fucking man up and organize.
I’m a cov player, been cov ever since last beta with stagger, lowest/weakest faction in all the servers ive been in, and im fucking GLAD they had that mechanic up so pussies stay on the ground. we currently dominate the server im in with our low numbers:P Git gud
Marauders went MIA after losing two territories in the same day from us, we took weavers in SEVEN minutes, whilst purples are terrified because “cov players just want to declare war on everything” we took their BW, and we’ve never lost a territory from day one:) people have been begging us to lose regions so they can transfer to yellow. boohoo.
It’ll be all purple until you and the other losing faction can get your shit together and cooperate to take back territories. Or until some purple players get bored and change factions to get some competition going.
This is the part of the game that it seems like it’s hard for people to wrap their heads around. This is no different than refusing to vote in an election but still being affected by policy those officials create (and then complaining about it). Or choosing not to drive but complaining that the roads are paved primarily to aid those that do drive. This is an intentional part of the game; if you want change in territory, etc, you’re going to have to create it - same as the real world.
All of that is not to say that I think the server pop stuff is in a great spot, but server merges are coming soon™ which will solidify population, and devs have already discussed/experimented with penalties for factions that grow too large, too (and/or underdog benefits). There are already some of these mechanics built into the game - such as increased influence, etc.
It’s frustrating right now, in the moment, yes - but we’re still very much in a new game and these are the kinds of things that get balanced out over time (and also have to be done carefully, not based off of how something may feel any given week). 2 weeks ago balance on my server was all trash, and now it’s actually really well balanced. Just like the market, the system is generally intended to encourage & reward adaptation and underdogs/innovators.
I suspect a few servers will eventually self-organize into a single faction. Just set up a time for everyone to move over, make sure it holds very little territory at the time, then take over all the territory.
