It’s 9am on Ygg and everywhere I go to farm a little resource there is someone already there camping desperately. People are happy to come up and skin my kill to steal it from me. It is becoming toxic the resources have been spread so thin.
Please delete these bots and give us a new server for all these refugees.
Also, half the pop of the server is purple? WHY??? A whole mega company decides to switch faction and make this server crap and its ok???
Resource competition on CoS has gotten out of control. The other day, I decided it was time to catch up on farming. I logged in at 8AM, 11AM, 2PM, 5PM, 9PM, and 2AM the next day. At all times, there were 4+ people camping the resource nodes in every location I looked.
I like the idea of instancing nodes, but I’m not keen on the associated reduction in spawn rates that people are advocating for. I get why they are doing so, but I think the net effect might actually be harmful to the game.
I would prefer they try hard to eliminate the bots and leave some open servers even if they are empty, eventually people will get bored and migrate there. Calling it the best server when they do. Taking many with them.
Just to play another more fun game until they fix this issue.
If they do, you can come back.
If they don’t, it’s better to play something fun than waste your time complaining about this.
Report it? Yes definitely. Keep playing? No, not worth your time.
Players have been complaining about bots and RMT and such basically since launch and it hasn’t really gotten steadily better despite AGS claims of action.
Maybe some bots get wiped out some of the time and for a while you think things got fixed, but the long-term history is that not enough has been done and you are posting proof of that now.
Seriously: Go play something else. It’s clear that AGS doesn’t have a handle on this compared to just about every other game.
And there are so many games being released nowadays that any studio really needs to do much better to deserve and retain the loyalty of their player base. AGS simply hasn’t done that.
If you feel like New World is the only game in town and you can’t / won’t play anything else, then you are the one continuing to abuse yourself.
It’s clear that major issues with AGS / New World aren’t going away any time soon. We’re almost one year since launch and people are still talking about bots, RMT, mass reporting, overall player base toxcitiy, etcetera.
I’m personally looking forward to the new story changes and areas, but crafting and gathering still sucks with or without bots – and I’m certainly not going to touch the Trading Post to make up for any shortfall given that I might be feeding RMT.
So I’m still going to wait and in the meantime look into other new and upcoming titles.
More polished and less buggy games that can even be played on mobile are being launched, and they certainly don’t have systems that let exploitative players ruin whole servers, New World is really nothing special at all and really still the laughing stock of the MMO world.
I play NW to play with my best friend. He is stuck on MOBAs and I am sick of shooters and mobas. Also I can farm resources in NW while I do my boring job at home. But I cant do this with bots everywhere. I am complaining because I am a fan of this game and I want them to fix it. I am not going to buy a new game, I am older than most gamers on here, I have played almost every type of game. The crap that comes out these days doesnt interest me much. There is no way im grinding another MMO.
So AGS should feel the stress. You on the other hand dont have to read it.

Why do you lie? There is not a SINGLE MMO out that I have played (or seen played) that doesn’t have a BOT problem. You act like it is only this game when in reality it is every game.
I just maxxed Logging today and seriously had anxiety doing it. There isn’t a single Ironwood tree that doesn’t have at least two annoying mobs standing next to it and hitting you when you’re over halfway through the chopping. Then while you’re fighting them off some jerk comes running over and steals your tree!!!

So many AP players on US West servers too. Its making it 1. Overpopulated. and 2. making resource gathering way harder than it needs to be.

I think the ping is the same on AP servers as US West, that may be why… I have a friend in the phillipines who has 180-200 ping on AP servers as well as US west.

Can confirm, atm it’s getting out of hand even during working hours. I was at home Monday and Tuesday and even late morning and about noon all farming spots I visited where already farmed by at least 1 but mostly 3-4 people.
Its unfortunate to see you feeling that way about the game, i decided to take a peek at forums today since steam charts showed 40k players recently.
It seems like the game and devs haven’t changed much and there is no reason to come back. What a shame.
