Not gaining levels for weaponsmithing

Hey, you need to check the symbol next to the craft you are trying to make.

You are not getting weaponsmithing, because shields are armoring.

Weaponsmithing is: great axe, hammer, sword, and rapier.

Hopefully the image loaded - when I select shield it shows as giving weapon smithing skill

that is so odd. because shields are armoring for every other one.

You can double check it though, look at armor exp til next, make a shield, and see.

I think its more a mistake on section.

It may be a mistake for him, but it’s totally also a bug. Been happening to me as well. I’ve made shields, sword, spears. Still sitting at level 1 Weaponsmithing. Each of those items should give me enough to level. Not sure how long it’s been this way, but it needs to be looked into.

Mrblurr on Ys server. My picture looks very similar to his. Can’t create anything beyond the base stuff.

Have we figured this out? I am having the same issue, doesn’t matter what I make I gain zero XP for Weaponsmithing. The XP symbol doesn’t even show up. Which is really annoying, so as of right now, just straight up not making anything in that category.
