Monitoring “hardware”, lol. Not much hardware monitoring just language to put us at ease.
Cheatdata? what is cheat data? how is identity tracked?
What is the legal liability for loss? If specific details are not shared then any acceptance of liability will not hold up.
What is monitored?
What data is stored?
Where is it stored?
How long is it retained for?
Who has access to it?
EasyAntiCheat anti-cheat service (“EAC”), which is operated by a third-party service provider. EAC has a client software that is integrated into the Game. When you start the Game, the EAC client software will automatically load and install its latest version to the Hardware. EAC will monitor the Hardware, analyze the Game binaries and scan Hardware memory for the purpose of detecting and preventing cheating in the Game (“Purpose”). For the Purpose, EAC stores information regarding cheating methods used in the Game (“Cheat Data”).
By agreeing to this Agreement, or otherwise using this Game, you give your consent that EAC may gather, store, share, and publish Cheat Data for the Purpose. The Cheat Data will be used solely for the Purpose, including but not limited to identifying and banning players who are cheating in the Game, analyzing cheating behavior and cheating codes, as well as sharing data about cheats with affiliates of EAC.
Do you guys live under a rock? EAC has been in the game since launch and you’ve had it since you’ve downloaded New World (or possibly for years if you’ve played any other game). Sometimes programs require updates, so…that’s what happened. Also, all of you agreed to have an Anti-Cheat program running on your computer when you purchased and launched the game. Like cmon lol
Maybe you’re an overly paranoid, uninformed user who doesn’t read requirements & agreements before installing programs such as multiplayer games which all (for the most part) require some sort of AC. The most common being EAC. A quick google search of EAC will lead you to the company’s website, try it!
Wrong place to make this stand, no one here cares about European laws. You might get some cookie cutter reply from customer support with a cute emoji at the end but that’s about it I’m sorry to say.
Many of us do professional work on our gaming rigs. They are pretty good at video publishing among other tasks.
The fact that we have accepted EAC doesn’t mean we don’t. Get off your high horse.
How many levels of malware protection do you run? Do you go to gaming info sites on this device? Do you have a backup policy with detached, and off-site, data (like cloud AND local physical media). Have you run through restoration to make certain you aren’t exposed? Do you run scans to check for vulnerability at a system level?
There are more important practices than allowing an industry standard application anti cheat program.
