Not happy about EasyAntiCheat.Exe

Maybe you don’t do anything important on your computer and monitoring does not matter to you

Maybe, or maybe I wouldn’t be playing games on hardware that has vulnerable information and wouldnt even have it connected to the internet…

Playing on a work computer in the first place seems like a YOU problem.

Maybe you’re an overly paranoid, uninformed user who doesn’t read requirements & agreements before installing programs such as multiplayer games which all (for the most part) require some sort of AC. The most common being EAC. A quick google search of EAC will lead you to the company’s website, try it!

any data collected that is identifying needs to made available, at least for Europeans who have GDPR

Wrong place to make this stand, no one here cares about European laws. You might get some cookie cutter reply from customer support with a cute emoji at the end but that’s about it I’m sorry to say. :wolf:

lol yes, the US does not provide much consumer data protection

the privacy policy linked by mixednuts above has a portable data request link for europeans

If you are new to video games EAC might seem scary to you. It’s nothing new to the rest of us.

easyanticheat is the best anticheat you can get tbh

It’s a widely used and verified anti cheat software. Many games use it.

Modern hacks don’t install them on the main machine. They use two machines.

It seems ok just to play the game and then restart afterwards as EAC only runs while the game is running.

Why did they spun it up as a separate third party app on an offshore domain?

Every domain is an offshore domain to someone.

Many of us do professional work on our gaming rigs. They are pretty good at video publishing among other tasks.

The fact that we have accepted EAC doesn’t mean we don’t. Get off your high horse.

How many levels of malware protection do you run? Do you go to gaming info sites on this device? Do you have a backup policy with detached, and off-site, data (like cloud AND local physical media). Have you run through restoration to make certain you aren’t exposed? Do you run scans to check for vulnerability at a system level?

There are more important practices than allowing an industry standard application anti cheat program.

What other games do you play? Specifically, what other multiplayer games do you play?

This is not uncommon for multiplayer games. PUBG has one too. The only people who should be mad are people who can longer run their bots. And people like me who can’t login to the server now…

It’s hilarious you’re putting in this much effort to try to make the most well known anti-cheat software used in MMOs for the last decade seem spooky or unknown, just because you were somehow wholly ignorant of it.

Some of the small, lesser known titles that use or have used Easy Anti-Cheat:
Apex Legends
Black Desert
Dragonball FighterZ
Dragonball Xenoverse 2
Fall Guys
Far Cry 5
For Honor
Fortnite
Gears 5
Basically every Halo game
Rocket Arena
Rust
Smite
Star Wars: Squadrons
The Division 2
and on and on and on. It looks like Elden Ring will be using it as well.

This game has been using EAC since beta. All it did was update with new modules to prevent it being run in a virtual machine. Pretty standard stuff.

Yep. If you do a search for easy anti cheat there are threads about it from dates such as oct 2021. It might seem daunting at first especially if you read a lot of the fear threads. Truth is we have already been running it, your comp just needs updated permissions. Play on New world
