The bugs aren’t at fault here, I understand bugs are part and parcel.
Exploits capable of drastically altering the game, however, should never make it to a live release, and certainly shouldn’t have so much purchase after being reported.
I think the issue is at this point, to solve those exploits would involve a rebuild, and that would probably be the point at which the project just gets unplugged.
It’s not that I think the devs suck or aren’t doing anything, it’s that their foundation to work from in the first place is so deeply flawed.
There does not exist nomenclature that would have me excusing gamebreaking exploits in a PVP-focused game. The player experience is the selling point and it’s constantly being assailed.
If this is what passes as a good product on launch for us, it only gets worse and goes down from here, and say whatever you like-- I have absolutely no intention of backing down from this point.
I haven’t even touched on the report abuse here in this post, either, which is another issue entirely capable of capsizing the game all on its own. Especially when AGS’ knee-jerk reaction is to defend themselves and throw blame instead of accepting responsibility.
And then there’s the way their support team treats players.
Unfortunately, it’s strictly because this isn’t just about a few defunct passives and a bunk weapon skill that this comes out as capable of sinking the game. That’s my take, right or wrong, after seeing games try and try again to enter this market.
I’m just saying as a basis for doing so, this sucks and won’t hold for the long-term.
