OPR from now 23/2/28

No idea what you answer to. Pro tip: quote text you do answer to.

That’s what people asking for weapon nerfs don’t understand.
The problem isn’t weapon damage. It’s the insane advantages light armor gives, be it for the dodges, movement speed, or the massive damage bonus.

I tried light gs/S&S yesterday and was having a lot of fun with it, a lot better than heavy in opr, was able to chase down range instead of being pelted by them and was able to keep the pressure since I roll at the same distance as them, sooooooooo much better than being a sitting duck. I gotta increase the gear score on the gear a bit though

yeah, it gets much easier!

I’m currently using resi + elemental aversion. I’m wondering if I do elemental aversion + physical aversion and resi or put another perk. But I didn’t want to spend that much.

Yea I went cheap and just got resil/ele and grabbed a random piece with resil and relentless freedom. VG blade kills me though, but I play more like a hit and run kinda style

A lot of strength behind the GS and SnS right now is everyone is gemmed against dex and mages. GS can do explosive damage and SnS can left click people to death because they have no mitigation against it on top of fortify being useless on light.

That coupled with its mobility is what is making it really strong right now. It will probably remain that way until they either adjust fortify or address the range issue.

Agree.

ye i run 30 thrust and 15 fire+ele aver+fire pot, 0 slash strike

Yea, it’s the only game I can think of that has no blocking mechanics other than the GS one and everything revolves around dodging mitigation.

I’d trade the direct resolve trigger for a blocking skill that applies the same effect and has a decent reuse. Or rework one of the shield skills, I dunno, but for this I’m balls deep in.

Light is the only viable armour in OPR unless you have a pocket healer, plus it’s the only way to even have a chance on catching a light Bow/Fs meta build that are dominating OPR’s

I would prefer medium myself if given the choice

so u wanna be “tankier” yet speedy enough to catch light builds

which isnt even the goal of an Opr or a War…

u wanna be allmighty… and that’s the issue now…

I prefer to play as a tank, and in order to force combat, I usually pressure the enemy base alone.

It’s cool, but it kind of misses the point, as tank is more focused on playing in a group.

No, I’m just showing that I now understand why light armor melee is popular.

It’s an easy and super rewarding class, plus with a cheap set, you’re already able to do a lot.

didnt meant u

For the majority of players in OPR, light is the only way to go. Highest damage + highest mobility is a no-brainer. Light dodge is the best defense in the game. I feel this needs to be changed, but in the meantime, yes light armor 100%.

Agree.

the thing is, the majority plays solo. hence the option of light armor, u can be mobile…

for medium / heavy u need to work coordinated, which most don’t want ( due to personal preference, not everyone has enough time to practice daily in a video game )
