The reason the player leaves is to equip the score barrier
U need ride of gold sellers befor open a fresh server other way gold seller gona destroy the new servers.
Just dont let people trade gold / valuable item. And after 1time trade item/mats become as bound . That is solution of opening new worlds. <Befor this we need a job or any content to get direct gold, other way people gona complain.
And its not time to opening new server even , let team work on content and other important things.
First we need increase the number of servers and merge low population to other server + bring cross server+ layer/channel system like lost ark (but this layer system shouldn’t work on fort/warr/invasion)
And i forget about this , befor u decide to open a new server rework reward of towns controller and taxs , most of rmt is from company’s , and this system not even make senses , why we have faction here? azoth and gathering buff is the thing a faction member should get? ( And azoth reducting not even make sense after u guys did reduct of fast travel cost ) And all the gold go for who have the city?wtf…
No this is not a problem even if u have 2 hours per day in dungs this gs bumps like crazy. Problems when most people left were bugs, time gated content, crafting entries requiere a lot of time, desync. And 70 of playerbase mostly only play for 1-2 months and go for next MMO look at Lost Ark same story 1,5 months and they lost almost 1kk players in peak.
LOL!! No thanks. Please don’t disturb the dev team with this suggestion. Let them focus on what’s important.
Also, we don’t want this small population to be further dispersed by new servers, so perhaps you could ask them to merge the low pops.
If your problem is that you didn’t enjoy the end-game then a fresh server isn’t going to fix that. At most you’ll play for 2-3 months and then ask for another fresh server because you have hit end-game again and everyone is max etc.
Perhaps you should find a game that scratches that itch instead of trying to bend the game to fit your desire (which is in the minority).
That is literally what he is asking for, read the post and the others answers in it. He is aware that these new servers would die out in 1 ~ 3 months. And he gave the solution: merge these fresh servers with old ones and create new fresh servers, like seasonal events.
Right now, I think it’s a bad idea because the population of the game is still declining, so spreading the community is not good. And they need to polish some mechanics about territory control and city management before.
But I like this idea, I would definitely play on a fresh server and believe there is a big enough niche of people that would make this viable. And don’t forget there are, literally, millions of players that bought the game but never got to 60. This is an enormous population that fresh servers could attract.
I dont want a fresh start.
You seem to already understand that fresh servers are not needed in this game right now, with its tiny population.
You can say that the OP is just mentioning his desire, but when we have mods saying things like “that’s a pretty good idea” it gets really scary.
The topic literally says “Now is a good time to release fresh servers”. No it’s not a good time to add fresh servers and the OP is wrong for thinking so. The dev team should not be wasting their time on stuff like this right now.
Wow thanks for not letting the topic sink while I was asleep you guys <3
I disagree that becuase the population is tiny, we should not release fresh servers.
1- You are saying that it will “spread the population thin”. So you are insinuating that a moderate portion of the current playerbase will WANT to have a fresh starts. I don’t believe that many of the current players would want to play a completely fresh start. Maybe 10% at most. So no, it wouldnt spread the population to thin. And even if it did. If a moderate amount of players would rather play a fresh start server, it wouldnt ruin anything for you. Servers are probabbly getting merged sometime this month. So feeling like you are in a populated server will still happen regardless.
2-Most of the people who would be interested in a fresh start server aren’t playing New World. They are people that are being reintroduced or introduced to the playerbase. So your argument for “spreading the population thin” doesnt hold up well either. It would be the opposite. It would be adding players to the playerbase.
3-It wouldnt take that much resources to add 1 more server with each region and lock transfers, so no, its not wasting the Dev Teams time. Merging the servers than opening 1 fresh server for each region would not take that much time.
4-It is a good time to release fresh servers. Are you playing other games right now or is New World it for you? Becuase people are finishing there playthroughs with the AAA games like Elden Ring/Dying Light 2. There isnt any notable games coming out in the next 3 months. 3+ months is when all the highly anticapted games come out like: Ark 2, Starfield, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Ashes of Creation might be 2023.
When those games hit, people who aren’t playing New World will be even less interested in New World. The time to release fresh servers is now. The people not playing NW will have more time to get immersed into the game and retain longer playtime than if they wait for Nov or Dec.
I just don’t understand why active players are so worried that having season fresh start servers is somehow going to be bad for the game. It does the opposite. Other games have proven that. It is one of the ways to keep a game from declining.
You have literally rejected everything the game has to offer from lvl 60+ (your words), yet you are demanding that the devs spend resources to cater to you and the people like you who have rejected all what they have built and continue to improve upon.
This is the definition of entitlement.
Not sure what people think “fresh start” servers will accomplish here?
The game will still be broke as they refuse to fix fundamental issues.
It is a good idea, but any chance we can get an alternate ruleset PvP server released too?
Ok lol nice counter argument. Lets resort to name calling. I’m not being entitled. If New World doesnt want to release fresh servers I will continue to play other games.
Honestly a better argument would be that the game hasnt improved enough that releasing fresh servers wouldnt be a good idea. The first wave of fresh servers would pull in alot of players but proceeding servers wouldn’t. People would have a high expectation that fresh servers would mean the game is much better, level 60 and all. And although it might pull in alot of players, if the game hasnt really improved that much would end up losing players that might have stayed if the game was up to their expecations. Proceeding “fresh servers” will most likely not pull in as many players, so its better to get it right the first time.
Which is why I think that the Devs are waiting to release fresh servers.
That’s pretty much what I said, yet you conveniently ignored it to write your reasons why it would be good. As I will keep saying, “now is not the time for fresh servers”, the devs have a lot of work to do so they don’t need to think about things like this right now. Focus on making the game good enough so that people like you might actually play past 60 ![]()
For me the issues I had with NW was never the leveling process but endgame. I might be wrong but im guessing endgame activities still need more work and the game just feels like a grind once you hit 60
Be it the leveling process or endgame the fundamental issues with this game affect both and I would say affect endgame even more.
Most people whinging about the leveling processes just want an auto max level button tbh so they can get into endgame faster however like I said the major issues with this game become much more apparent at endgame so fresh servers wont change much of much.
It’s okay though some people just like dreaming a little dream!
Well no, what you said was that the game didnt need it right now becuase it would spread the population to thin. And no it wouldnt take alot of the devs time/resources to release 1 fresh server for each region. I just thought of something though. What if the devs released the “fresh” servers as a Public Test Realm. They could use the information later to make a proper “relaunch” of fresh servers. But instead of hyping it up keep it silent. Wipe every month, until they actually decide to release proper fresh servers? I think NW has public test realms? But do they have you start at level 1 with nothing and do they wipe?
I guess you didn’t read this part
I was going to suggest getting your fresh server fix from the PTR, but I don’t even know if that would satisfy your hunger. The PTR is wiped every month, but players can make fresh characters or fully levelled with end game gear. Maybe test that out on the next one (might be out next week).
I know alot of people skipped the leveling process by doing townhall missions. Feel bad for them cause they missed out. The leveling process was great, especially if you solo’d or duo’d the game 2-3 levels higher than you. I think people wanted to race to max level, cause thats when your journey really starts in most mmos but NW endgame wasnt fleshed out. Doing actual missions, following the story, exploring, teaming with randoms to do dungeons, playing the ever changing market, having war when noone was 60 and min-maxing wasnt fleshed out… those were the things i enjoyed. The race to 60 was fun, the combat was fun, the random group of gankers that your faction had to team up to fight, the pvp missions, the community of 100’s of players, going to a highly dangerous unclaimed town becuase it had a t3 forge, teaming up with comanies to take over the map, as you fought for control… ugghhh it makes me want to download and start playing again!!! But i know its just not the same! If only fresh servers released… it would be like the rerelease of classic. Not exactly the same becuase the playerbase improved, but overall just an awesome experience!
Yeah doesnt feel the same if you can start at level 60 which i imagine alot of players do.
