Now is the time for PvP servers

Guess what brother. Niche is the only thing new world will ever be. They need to capitalize on pvp because nw is the only good pvp MMO on the market.

Every other MMO is better at PvE. But none are better at pvp.

If the pvpers continue to be neglected we will all eventually leave. And then it won’t be long untill ags have to shut down the servers after. That’s the cold hard truth.

I am for. But without the possibility of going back and forth.

Y would it i mean it’s a fresh server and only people who wanna go and die go there so doesn’t affect anyone who does not want to go

People thinking taking resources from getting the game back on track and applying them to PvP only servers so a fraction of the player base can run around open world and teabag each other is insane to me.

How out of touch can people be? Very, clearly.

the problem is only high Recources need to be flagged for more Gathering Luck
Maybe set the Gathering yield for all Recources +10 to +20% when flagged!?

I’m ok with “Red and Blue” servers

I personally would love to watch how a full pvp server played out. I have a hard time believing pvp only players will make the long term effort to keep towns upgraded and fully stocked of top tier craftables that require level 200 crafting and a ton of consistent farming… Would be fun to watch though. Most of the pvp only players I know barely want to chop down a tree, nonetheless grind out armoring, weaponsmithing, arcana, cooking, jewel crafting etc. to 200 for the best honing stones, oakfkesh, health mana and regen potions, gemstone dust and +40 foods and then farm motes and hyssop and jewels and everything else all day to keep them replenished. Pvpers will be begging for bots after awhile.

I don’t think the devs are ever interested in doing this as it makes two separate games to balance but it would be cool if they opened a PTR server that was full pvp with some minor changes to the game and collected feedback from players with current iteration of game.

I still think the end state would be that you just have a few bullies camping the high end nodes and killing everyone on sight.

Pvp only servers would be wonderful. Unfortunately the MMO community and Pvpr’s in particular have shown they have no ability to self police and will grief low level players at every turn. So this won’t happen.

Why is suddenly everyone wants PVP server ? That got answered by AGS multiple times and they said it won’t happen and is not their priority. It’s looks like a small ( very small ) population want pvp server, been AT LEAST 3 months I didn’t see any topics on this on forums and everyone was doing fine. People literally reinstall NW for couple hours and now asking for PVP servers, get real guyz

The bigger question I have besides the Gatekeeping, is why are some of these PvErs trying to control the PvPers?

Couldn’t people be asking for PvP only zones? With a decent amount of resources? Forts to capture? Invasions happening in real time so the factions that don’t control the fort could actually use the invasion to their advantage and weaken/conquer the fort? That would be something worth roaming around for. Everything condenced in 1 or 2 maps. Want in? PvP flag on.

And PvE players, please don’t “mimimi, that’s unfair because we can’t go there”.
You can. Flag yourserlf.

“mimimi, that’s one or 2 maps of resources just accessible to part of the population”
It’s accessible to everyone. Just like there are currently 10 maps with resources accessible to everyone. The only difference is that now, if i’m farming at a spot and an empty head pops in, he can start stealing the resources i’m farming and i cant do anything about it.

“mimimi, the game is full of bots”
Hard choices… Deal with them or flag yourself and take a higher risk of dying, but a possible paradise of botfree resources.

Zones like i described above, where the PvP population would have decent rewards, be forced to play in thighter spaces (confronts would be more frequently) and cool events. That to me means fun knocking at the door, and shouldn’t be too hard to implement.

I Second This !

That awkward moment New World IS a pve game haha

MMO without PvP is a farming simulator.

I’m fine with current system: do PvE to get PvP gear.

PvP should have a goal though, currently it’s a territory control that gives you gold weekly.
Instead I’d like to have PvP leaderboards, PvP tournaments, casual wars, etc.

The amount of gold is too crazy, it should be capped at 500k.
And the most expensive rare items shouldn’t cost more than 500k.
That would be fair.

Permanent PVP has never and will never work for gear based games. You can make claims about how it will magically stop the bots but the reality is that you’re human and they’re not. Maybe you will decrease their profits 20%, even 50% but that won’t make them stop. The only thing it will do is alienate any shred of casual or new players until the game is nothing but a dizzying and never ending loop of fresh starts that slowly but surely depletes the playerbase.

Without new players, the pvp grows stale and all those “die-hard loyal” players will move on to greener pastures.

A bot should take the same farming route, so you can just get ahead of it or block them with tents

I’d hardly consider New World a true MMO anymore. Limited capacity servers, strong emphasis on instanced content (arenas, OPR, dungeons, now wars) simply because their engine isn’t able to handle the workload. So to say that this game isn’t more of an MMO than a multiplayer action style game like CoD, Battlefield, etc isn’t far off. Hell let loose is a good example, 50v50. Wars are already struggling to pull 40’s.

AGS has already started to lean towards instancing content to thin the playerbase in openworld. Every step this game is making is gearing towards smaller scale content.

Pretty much the only part of this game that makes it an MMO is bank standing in Everfall/Windsward.
