AGS said they fixed the issue and that it was safe to play, but after a week of playing NW with my new GPU… well, It died. Randomly while playing, my pc would go black and the fans would go max speed. The third time it happened the GPU died, and it smelt like burnt.

third time’s the charm, or not…
Good thing you caught it now, you had a bad board. Time to RMA, sorry to hear about your loss :c
Evidently the problems with these started all the way back here, but manufacturers were slow to respond, and many boards went out with problems. And the supposed fixes were not perfect.
A really bad time for card manufacturers.
It was never their issue - other than having uncapped frame rates on some screens that allowed GPUs to spin up past their breaking points (if the component didn’t handle the condition properly)…which was fixed. But; GPUs, like CPUs, are designed with protections that are supposed to kick in before they commit seppuku. Yours apparently didn’t do what it’s supposed to do.
As others have said, go to your card’s manufacturer and get the card replaced.
All that said: I like my GPU temps on the cool side so I run my 3070 slightly - <10% - undervolted and it never gets past 70c
Hey there @euler ,
So sorry to hear about your 3080ti, “F”.
We did get this sorted out and recommend you cap your fps and monitor your temperature.
No worries, you can still get a warranty replacement and follow above recommendations.
Hope you get a new one and continue gaming.
Have a great one!
