hope you realise that the only “content” they have for march is the blunderbuss. Nothing else or you would have already heard about it.

F2P = total garbage.

They need to just charge monthly subscription and put the money back into the game.

Before you kids reeeeeeeeee and throw a plate of tendies in the floor…it’s the cost of two gallons of gas depending where you live.

I’m down let me pay sub and give me a robust gaming experience.

They are still flagging, but they don’t pvp. Yet they still cry daily about lack of open world pvp.
Go to any expedition area or elite area where people are getting ready to run it, you’ll see different factions flagged and not doing anything but standing next to each other.

While I definitely prefer a sub model, I don’t think at this point I would pay to play this game. If it started as a sub model and everything else was the same, I probably would have cancelled my sub last month.

Uhhh, pretty sure most of the player base is already gone. Compare yesterday to today, at the same time, the total logged into NW is down another 10,000 (49,000 to 39,000). Of course, that’s with the early access to LA. March will be too late.

Well I think the point is a company that has monthly revenue numbers can allow for more budget and RND to build a better game.

Wow has survived for like what 18 years by this model and Eve Online for 19 years.

Those are polished games.

When a company has to look at subscriber numbers weekly , monthly, quarterly they are held more accountable to your game experience.

No one thinks of the company as a business that plays the game. I know this being in software for so many years.

I agree

I am actually shocked the over abundance of legendary items within this game. I remember in Rift in greenscale blight where a legendary dagger dropped and i was the winner. Like Holy that felt awesome! people would inspect you and see a legendary item. But in here its get 590 Expertise and apparently they drop like candy if you have the luck and do the daily elite chest runs.

Legendary items in this game do not have that Legendary feel to them its just a different color and an added useless perk or 2

LA is Dev-light (it’s not an AGS game, but there is some localization and minor stuff), very little in the way of required dev time…so LA revenues can help fund continued work in NW and people who decide they like an isometric, click to move, modestly P2W grinder and wind up spending money there will probably be helping those of us who are staying here.

Yet, 99.9999% legendaries are absolute Garbage! Because of random stats and perks. Most legendaries are totally worthless. It’s not like other games where a Legendary would have attack power and Stats corresponding to the weapon type, making them incredibly valuable.

In Games like Silkroad, a Legendary weapon (Seal of Sun) had an amazing animation that showed what it was. And it had the ability to acquire power beyond normal enhanced weapons. Seal of Suns were so valuable they sold for like 2000 dollars! On average.

Legendaries in New World cannot obtain that value, even if you make them super rare. Legendaries are just 1 quality more than epic. Just a color change.

You might be right, you might not. You are creating a false assumption easily proven wrong. Everything in this game happened before they told us about it.

I would absolutely embrace a subscription model if they would deliver more content.

It always baffles me what a narrow minded view many pve players seem to have of the pvp community. The pvx community is big and extremely varied. I have met players from all walks of life and all age groups in open map pvp. Arenas are less diverse, from the bit of experience I have with it (I hate arenas, they are not my kind of content at all).

The poster in that specific post you seemed to reply to, said simply more open world pvp content, and I very much agree with that. Some fun engaging mechanics, nothing to do with full flag and full loot. I am going out on a limb here, but I believe that is a niche slice of the pvp community. We all pvp, yes, but this simply means player versus player instead of player versus environment. I compare it to enjoying to have an opponent on the other side of table tennis, instead of pushing the table against the wall, then playing against the wall. Pvp tends to be more challenging, as players are less predictable than a programmed environment. I am a grandmother, I have little doubt that gaming overall, but pvp in particular, has aided me to keep my reflexes well honed.

So yes, it is a diverse community, and with diverse taste. I personally enjoy open map pvp, and Lotro, ESO, GW2, all have offered differing takes on this concept, with lots of fun to be had. Swtor and PWI pvp servers did not add any specific pvp map content, and for most parts, even on the pvp servers, there was very little pvp happening.

I find myself logging off and playing other games now, THE main culprit… 0 OPR ques in the past 18 hours… There is literally nothing left to do besides do OPR or Mutators in between wars

I realize the PvX community is wide and varied, having played MMOs for over 3 decades. I also understand what the poster was suggesting, thankyou for clarifying because as a great grandmother at 78, ofcourse I need someone to explain the meaning behind a post, god forbid I retain my full faculties at my doddering old age.

This game was and is marketed as PvE with opt in PvP elements “In the current design, players in New World experience PvP by opting into Faction conflicts and Wars for territory ownership. Opting into these PvP experiences will be extremely rewarding, often granting you exclusive in-game bonuses and rewards for your efforts.” Openworld PvP is not the focus and hasn’t been the focus of AGS since 2019 so why should content be created just to appease the minority and PvPers are the minority. It isn’t enough that AGS granted a bonus luck mechanic for flagging…if you want PvP go OPR or war.

I play MO2, Rust and I still currently play PWI for sentimental reasons, MO2 and Rust I knew what I was getting into because they advertised their product as exactly what I wanted at the time and as for arenas, if you played PWI then you would know the balanced gear system for the arena was far more successful and appreciated than the original free for all system and given the limited playerbase is still one of the most popular instances.

I still play PWI for sentimental reasons, but as I already mentioned, I am not an arena player. I never partook in that content, yet I did play on a pvp server at some point. I also played in the Lotro Ettenmoors for years (open map pvp), and I spent countless hours in Cyrodiil, and even more countless hours in GW2 wvw.

Apologies you seem to feel stepped on your toes, but your response to that poster sounded unwarranted aggressive to me, when all the poster had asked for was some additional map pvp content, instead of just shifting the pvp into arenas. This game has remained focussed around the faction and settlement mechanics, which are inseparably linked to pvp acitivities. You say the game changed course since 2019, yet this is an article from February 2020, and it might be due to interpretation, but to me it seems they did not waver from this base idea.

It also seems to depend who one talks to, in regards to how this game was advertised. A friend and guild leader of mine in ESO, when I mentioned that I was going to play New World, told me she was not going to touch New World as it was a pvp game, and she feels a deep rooted hate for all things pvp. I myself researched the game and saw it as a pvx game with heavy focus on open world pvp activities, not forced activities, yet activities strongly supported via targeted content nonetheless.

It appears players interpreted New World’s promises according to personal bias. Clever marketing ploy, but also clearly a recipe for disaster.

no true words ever typed lol

They need to do both. Whatever gave people the notion it’s one or the other is just ludicrous. There is no reason a game can’t attract all types of players, and many have already done this.

UO, EQ, DaoC, WoW, and that was before 2006.

Lmao. This aged well.

I hope you know how much of an idiot you sound right now. First off, making the argument “you shouldnt complain about the lack of content because you dont have a job and play all day” is stupid and irrelevant because 1) I have a job 2) I go to school and 3) its not that hard to get through content in this game, especially when there is a total of 2 dungeons that you mindlessly run through and call it “endgame”.
Im also not sure if at some point you got hit in the head. Youre absolutely right, lets add a monthly subscription to a game thats hanging on for dear life and will lose anything its kept.
ignoring the fact that monthly subscriptions are the biggest scams in games, No one is willing to pay monthly for a game that offers literally nothing enjoyable after reaching a certain point.
regularly, I would just call you off as a child but judging from your comments you should be embarrassed because you clearly didnt do well in math :frowning:

Mind you: Im only talking this way because you came in hot with your brilliant ideas and start trash talking everyone in the forums.
