NW devs say you get 8 hours a week of PVE and thats it!

I haven’t even heard about this – that’s gotta be a straight up bug.

@Macedon Dude it’s kinda funny you mention that because I’ve been trying to go on my alt to run mutations and I do have a 625 set but its like PvP oriented gear and now that means you pretty much arent going to get a group unless its within company or friends. I actually have made a set up for Laz I wanted to try out I saw one of M11’s (speed runner) teammates running but the shards I have only let me get to M9 GS even finding people to do M9’s is rough …

but 100, I mean you get more shards from a chest in a regular expedition than you do from golding an m1 which I think everyone can agree is a strange system. Initially it made sense to have the shards low on the lower runs so that you had to earn your way up to m10, plus early on you could find m1-7 groups, but now its just setting back a lot of players that are ready for m10.

Think about this… you walk up to the summer event twice in two diff towns you literally earned a Gypsum cache that if you have a 625 item is going to give you twice as many shards as you get from golding an M5.

This ^ also disincentivizes players from joining M1-6 groups because the shard amount gained for gold is negligible. It’s no wonder your friend has a tough time finding groups. Shards are very low or med mutation and I saw patch notes saying the loots been spread out better but last time I was in a lower mutation it was night and day from an m10… talking getting greens and blues with the occasional purple vs M10 which is like 60% of chests seem to have a gold and the rest is purple.

I honestly dont know what an overall solution to that would be because you cant just give m1-5 thousands of shards either… but it definitely needs to be upped to be more than a gypsum cache.

point is they NEVER should have removed expedition tuning orbs. I never once saw anyone complaining about needing an orb to run the expedition. this also EASILY allowed lesser experienced people to either find groups of people around their level to grow with. or find more experienced people who were willing to help because that person used their orb.

now by removing the orbs you have opened the floodgates to people complaining about 25 mutations not being enough when per your own statistics only like .05% of players EVER ran that many.

you previously had a system in place to allow players to get orbs through the faction shop. the best solution would have been to increase the quantity of orbs that could be obtained through the shop and to allow expedition orbs to drop from mobs.

you stated the removal of orbs was to increase availability to players, but lets be honest, it was a poor attempt to stop shard sellers. the change has actually driven up the price shard sellers charge.

this is the biggest problem with New World. AGS tries to fix a problem that really isnt a problem and creates a bigger mess for themselves instead of fixing the issues that actually need fixed.

I would love to see the statistics regarding the number of complaints received regarding needing turning orbs to run expeditions vs number of complaints received about 25 mutations NOT being enough in a week.

im glad there are more people not being a fan about this limit. coming from games like COD and fortnite, NW is my first open world game and after close to 2k hours in this game i still love the PVE side. but with this limit the thing i love doing the most wich is running m10 all day cant be done anymore. i have to wait 2-4 days until i can play them again. as a player you wanna grind and chase the potential extremely good random drops to earn a lot of gold or to get started on the pvp side of the game and this limit is holding that back big time. And its a good thing those bis items are very hard to get. its part of grinding and having players to come back to the game. but then pls let us keep grinding mutations. Once again i love this game but this is a big bummer for me. Also with 3 corrupted mutated expeditions in the game… it would be nice to see if there is 1 of those in the rotation every week. had it multiple times now that garden and laza are mutated for that week and then my 3 major corrupted trophy’s are eating dust off the shelf for that week. Thx in advance

I don’t agree with putting daily/weekly lockouts on anything, to be honest. The game has fun gameplay. Lean into that! You don’t need to use the “old MMO” tricks to keep people “engaged”. This includes daily crafting limits on Asmodeum et al, dungeon runs, PvP matches, anything!

Give us something fun and repeatable, and people will play! Make it easy for us to get our friends to be able to run content with us, and we’ll get them to play, too!

Completely agree except I think maybe instead of having a Corrupted Expedition each week, make more expeditions for Angry Earth Lost Ancient and Beast

The forums are flooded with with complaining about orbs. BUT they were complaints about the old system before you could obtain then with faction tokens and they were harder to make. Once they lowered the barrier it wasn’t as bad.

That being said orbs always sucked. Dungeons should not be gated this way. There are intended to be enjoyable short and repeatable content. These limits create friction that isn’t needed.

People have been complaining since the game came out about orbs. Orbs suck. Timegating… sucks. Just remove timegating and let people play the gd game.

Its appreciated thank you.

100% agree with OP.

Really?

Im mainly pvp and do m10s on the odd occasion for the loot to break opr monotony.

And i hit my first limit today.

How do players who main pve cope lol

Honestly as a returning player I am unlikely to ever hit the limit… because I won’t get a group in the first place lol (I agree with the OP though, why are you limiting people who want to play your game?)

nope.

Oh and the 25 limit is a big disincentive to running lower level Mutations to help people level up or just to do lower mutations as fun runs / join PUGs etc

That happens a lot around here. A LOT.

Having the data and knowing how to interpret it are very different things.

Still, with this issue in particular, I feel like everyone is looking at it from the wrong angle.

I’ll spare you the silly anecdotes (unless you really want them) but the gist of it is: Lower levels mutations are flat out worthless, for literally everyone. There’s absolutely no reason to run anything under M6* unless absolutely no one in your group can open one up.

(*Really I’d say M8 is the minimum, but I’ll be generous.)

MAXIMUM 2 Days of gypsum (assuming you’re starting from 600 expertise) and some TP thrift buys can have you fully set for any M6 dungeon.

Mutators should be retuned so that lower ranks actually matter and higher ranks are actually challenging- not super farmed speed runs.

There’s some really easy ways to do this and I’m happy to share, but this stood out to me as a really glaring issue surrounding the whole thing.

I really think mutators need an overhaul, not just more bandaids.

Not going to be a problem with group finder, maybe that’s why they put it off, find another way to sell gold. soo dumb. Pay to win trash and anyone with a brain can see it.

I agree Shard selling is a problem - and I don’t know why they don’t fix it - many suggestions as to how. The 25 Limit isn’t fixing that - is that even a stated reason as to why the limit is in place ? - let people play /enjoy the content the way they want as often as they want and everyone is happy ?

Depths m10 this week… Looks like they heard you

Already ran it twice last night!

It only took like a month to rotate back. How that happens when there’s only 6 possible choices is beyond me.

I’ve been trying to finish my Expedition Captain’s set for a while now. RNG and I are at odds sometimes (though I rolled resil/freedom/shirkfort str gloves last night so all is forgiven).
