NW devs say you get 8 hours a week of PVE and thats it!

Really?

Im mainly pvp and do m10s on the odd occasion for the loot to break opr monotony.

And i hit my first limit today.

How do players who main pve cope lol

Honestly as a returning player I am unlikely to ever hit the limit… because I won’t get a group in the first place lol (I agree with the OP though, why are you limiting people who want to play your game?)

nope.

Oh and the 25 limit is a big disincentive to running lower level Mutations to help people level up or just to do lower mutations as fun runs / join PUGs etc

That happens a lot around here. A LOT.

Having the data and knowing how to interpret it are very different things.

Still, with this issue in particular, I feel like everyone is looking at it from the wrong angle.

I’ll spare you the silly anecdotes (unless you really want them) but the gist of it is: Lower levels mutations are flat out worthless, for literally everyone. There’s absolutely no reason to run anything under M6* unless absolutely no one in your group can open one up.

(*Really I’d say M8 is the minimum, but I’ll be generous.)

MAXIMUM 2 Days of gypsum (assuming you’re starting from 600 expertise) and some TP thrift buys can have you fully set for any M6 dungeon.

Mutators should be retuned so that lower ranks actually matter and higher ranks are actually challenging- not super farmed speed runs.

There’s some really easy ways to do this and I’m happy to share, but this stood out to me as a really glaring issue surrounding the whole thing.

I really think mutators need an overhaul, not just more bandaids.

Not going to be a problem with group finder, maybe that’s why they put it off, find another way to sell gold. soo dumb. Pay to win trash and anyone with a brain can see it.

I agree Shard selling is a problem - and I don’t know why they don’t fix it - many suggestions as to how. The 25 Limit isn’t fixing that - is that even a stated reason as to why the limit is in place ? - let people play /enjoy the content the way they want as often as they want and everyone is happy ?

Depths m10 this week… Looks like they heard you

Already ran it twice last night!

It only took like a month to rotate back. How that happens when there’s only 6 possible choices is beyond me.

I’ve been trying to finish my Expedition Captain’s set for a while now. RNG and I are at odds sometimes (though I rolled resil/freedom/shirkfort str gloves last night so all is forgiven).

Well you’re wrong. Shard selling isn’t a problem the developers have said that many times over now.

Their stated reason for this cap is “to reduce the gap in progression between those who can run 20 or more mutations and those who can’t” they said this in a post about it a while ago. It’s here on the forums in the dev section. They also say in that post they are completely fine with shard selling in it’s current form.

The cap is terrible for the community. There is nothing that can be said to justify it.

In a way i understand their sentiment.

But thats like saying the person that enjoys going to gym more than another guy cant get bigger and stronger because that’s what he enjoys spending their time on.

All because the weaker guy doesnt have the same time attend gym.

I sympathize for both sides because one cant enjoy what they like to the extent they want and the other doesnt want to feel insignificant for not being on the same level.

But whos really being punished?

The problem starts when the “gym” puts these two people head to head.

The reality is that theres a cap on how strong you can get (625) so really its helping the weaker guy get stronger quicker.

I take issue with it simply because they’re trying (unsuccessfully) to force equality. They expect the “casual” low effort players to stay on the same playing field as the hardcore committed players. This will never happen. Not only because the hardcore devoted players will still put in more effort than the casuals (the ones who don’t quit anyway) but also gear is not the biggest determining factor in the only game mode that matters at all in this world, wars.

They’re trying to punish a certain group for being more devoted to the game or having a life style that permits more than a half hour of play time a day and it’s honestly disgusting. It only makes it worse that it’s on a false premise. That casual guy (forget the name) we all see here crying on the forums about how no one will take him to an m10 because he won’t level up ward gear is the perfect example. He could easily get and level the gear but instead choose to complain how is unfair that a group is allowed to have rules that he must follow in order to be included. He wants to force you to include him on his terms or not be able to play.

It’s why I don’t play anymore. You’re not going to tell me I can only progress as fast as the players who put in no effort and expect me to be happy.

The limit actively dissuades players doing less than lvl 10 mutations - to help or just for fun with friends who can’t run 10’s yet.

At least you have 8 hours of PvE, there are many players who have not been able to have even 5 minutes of wars (PvP) because of the system garbage they made.

Welcome to a dev team full of woke liberal scumbags.

I only pvE and I play way more that 8h/week, you’re the one that seems to do not know what to do in game…

I do not have any issue with the mutation cap. 25 is a lot to do in a week.

They did this for one of several reasons to prevent farming loot for high GS or to hide the obvious.

  • Re-coding the loot tables to have diminishing returns would take years to re-write
  • They’re forcing you to do other aspects of the game like PvP… because they don’t want players to realize how hollow the content is (like the towns, its all the same textures …just re-shuffled around a bit).
