"oh now bow is op"

Thats what I have been saying. Melee groups will steamroll range heavy teams. Its happened like that in tons of OPRs. Bows may be annoying because they actually work now but they arent OP. Melee will still dominate.

Only because of healers. I tested a 20k hp heavy armor tank with ss/vg. I deal 0 dmg but if I have a healer behind me I can tank 15 people. Without a healer I die in seconds.

I tested a medium armor with 300 str/200 con. Spammed some dodges, get a healer and guess what, same result…

Yeah so? Healers are part of the game. Light armor bow player isnt tanking 15 people no matter how many healers he has.

Yea, but melee can’t shoot hammers or axes from 50-100m either…

Yeah, its called having different class types that do different things. Sorry but not everyone is going to be GA/WH/IG anymore and thats a good thing.

They should just make a different server where everyone can go rapier/ls, rapier/bow, spear/bow, s&s/hatchet, ig/vg, ig/bb and leave the others play the game in peace

Thats not the way it works. Homogenization of classes is never good. Might as well just make only medium armor and only two weapons… GA and WH. Then everyone would be the same. Its essentially the same thing you just asked for.

I honestly mostly see mages, the bows really don’t hit their shots.

so have i in 300/200. 0-1 healer to a team with about 4 healers.

not too much of an issue. will drop a few rankings because of deaths but whatever a win is a win.

The rule of thumb is do the opposite of whatever the popular theory is for whats overpowered or underpowered. You’ll find yourself ahead of the curve on the meta almost every single time.

I was screaming from the rooftops that musket was stupidly broken from day 1. Got laughed off the forums every time. Then OPR hit and suddenly musket is the most broken thing in existence with zero changes (a slight nerf actually).

Same thing with spear. Everyone was bitching that it was completely useless until everyone found out that it has god damn near 100% CC uptime and is nigh invincible in 1v1s.
Same with rapier, until people figured out it was hypermobile and dealt shit loads of burst.
Same with warhammer until people figured out it could chain with spear and SS for infinite CC combos.

Et cetera et-fucking-cetera.

you leave my baby boy out of this.

Fine, then I’ll bring in light armor.

If you were running light armor in the first three months you were a fucking retard who didn’t know how to play (until people figured out it’s too slippery to catch and suddenly light armor is too op).

Do the opposite of whatever the forums say is underpowered and you’ll lead the charge on next month’s meta.

VG too weak? Start playing VG.
Sword and Shield too weak? Pick up SS.
Life staff too weak? Grab some focus and get healing.

musket is literally point and click and is a much easier sniping weapon than bow, the range diff is why bow can do more dmg.

Bows are not that OP as u guys cry. But now majority are using bows to gather easy the max points needed in OPR for PvP XP.

I think it totally makes sense for the bow to do more damage, but the damage per second is so off that for most players with average aim they are much better off using a bow than a musket. At the same stat point allocation, the bow hits about 40% harder than the musket, and that’s before any bow perks like (20% increase damage on role or 20% damage from surprise attack). The bow also shoots twice as fast as the musket. The musket can hit for 4k headshots but you first have to land powder burn and follow it up with shooter stance. It takes a combo and you have to hit at least 2 shots before your damage ramps up. The bow, on the other hand, has multiple abilities that hit for +4k without any preparation. You can kill a 50 con musket player in 2 abilities from the bow if you land them back to back. The musket, however, with 50 con is headshoting well geared light players for <3k, medium players for <2.5k, and heavy players for <2k. With such low damage, it’s easy to push a musket player, especially if you have cover. Consequently, the musket is pretty bad in open world pvp (unless you play on a mountain or something), arenas, and war. The musket is decent in OPR, though, because it’s a bit easier to keep distance on other players.

The bow is somewhat harder to aim than the musket, but it isn’t exactly difficult either, especially for a “bow main” with hundreds of hours using the bow.

I think the bow’s projectile size needs to be smaller than it is now, but bigger than in the past. If they don’t change anything about the bow then they need to buff the musket in some capacity to make it viable again (probably something like allowing reloading on the run, making some of the abilities instant casts and adding rend or anti-heal to an ability). They could also look at the damage per second of the fire staff and see if it warrants a buff, but, from my perspective, I think the fire staff is fine, especially if they reduce the arrow projectile size.

Yeah, I don’t engage with a mage if they’re close.
