That doesn’t make sense I am 580+ on all body pieces and 550 on weapons and I do so solo… It is just time spent efficiently.
It’s almost like you’ve never played an MMO before and want instant gratification. Let’s just give everyone a full set of 600 legendaries without them needing to work for them
Again I’m not asking for only amazing drops.
Since my score is 590. 590 should be the middle ground or say the peak of a hill. RNG should have an equal opportunity to fall down either side of the hill. +/-.
The current system feels like 590 is just a point on a steep slope, and the system rolls the dice from 580 to decide your drop.
I do think when you reach 590, named items should be a guarantee 600 in expeditions. You’ve already invested 100ish hours to get the expertise and had to pay for the key… On top of that it may not even drop. If they removed keys I’d feel differently. It’s too many layers of RNG ATM.
Considering I have Weaponmaster’s Chosen, Fury, Lazarus Bow, and Ancient Intentions a month ago yeah. I’ve accumulated the other named legendary items, all except for Will of the Ancients.
I’m a Life Staff main, and I’ve received about 25 Will of the Ancients ranging from 581 to 593.
My total avg expertise has been almost soft capped at 590 for almost a month, aside from the Amulet slot. Which is now 590 as of a few days ago.
I don’t think you understand the total amount of items I’ve looted on my character since reaching level 60.
Take a guess, multiply it by 15.
I can tell you most items from dungeons are less than 590 too.
Not sure if anyone remembers and I’m too busy to delink but they said we should be regularly getting 600s at 65+ in their hwm post. Aside from most everything green, the bulk of the items in dungeons and 65+ is 580s
Nah, most MMOs let you put in the hourly grind having a specific set of goals/itemization options to obtain.
Bosses at least have a static loot table without variations.
New World has LAYERS, and I mean LAYERS, of RNG.
Sure, Lazarus has named legendary items.
You have to first win the loot roll to drop and then rolls again for your gear score.
Who knows how these values are calculated because I’m almost certain that Luck has no real impact on the loot.
Does it only affect the first roll? does it affect all the rolls? who knows.
There are currently multiple rolls for random non-named loot in the world:
Item drops → rolls attribute → rolls perk bucket 1 → perk bucket 2 → perk bucket 3 (legendary)
Well since you asked, yes I have. Although I’m not sure why my gaming resume matters to you or this thread.
Everquest 2, Age of Conan, Vanguard (yes it was a trainwreck), Archage, Rift to name a few.
I do remember them saying that, I was looking for it.
It seems like the only way you can for sure get a 590 or greater item is from opening cast once you actually hit 590.
It matters because history shapes perspective. You realize in a few of those games you listed once you hit max level you see gear equivalent to what the area is right?
You go fight X boss they can drop a list of items from a loot table right? There is no random perks or random item level right?
You realize the issue people have isn’t “my item doesn’t drop”?
The issue is I’m level 60 doing what the game says is the hardest content but I’m getting gear that’s not equivalent to the difficulty.
Why can a firestaff roll blessed
Why can a a lifestaff roll leaping strikes
Why can a intellect chest piece roll infected throw
Why can a strength piece roll mending protection
That’s the problem people have. If I can’t see gearscore 600 items at 585 why am I seeing gearscore 550 at 590.
You on calandor?
Never had a single expertise increase outside of orbs since the update.
All the casts provide is a guaranteed expertise bump, once you hit 590 opening them kind of seems like a meme.
The only thing I’ve utilized them on is my Amulet every day, all my other items are at 590 and it’s a waste to use them on anything else.
Might as well stock up for when they raise the expertise cap.
Wait a minute, what are these “winter weapons” you are talking about? Do they have luck stat?
Also, pretty sure luck is unrelated to the GS value of an item. It only increases the chance of an item to be higher rarity than uncommon.
All the winter event 520 weapons have luck on them.
Dunno but i feel that these high level area should have more/better named items and the random junk should remain just that random salvage junk unless u got super lucky and got godrolls on it.
Also why no gear sets on this game?
If you don’t mind me making a suggestion as well @Willard …
I think named items in expeditions should drop automatically (or nearly) 600gs. There is already 100+ hours in grinding your expertise to a level where it is possible to get it and then RNG already dictates a roll on the loot table. When you add a gs roll as well… The layers of RNG are just too great and it’s quite defeating when so much time has already been invested.
Tokens that you could use to upgrade or use to trade in for preferential gear could work.
Also narrowing gear RNG to be useful. Like bows drop with perks that are relevant to a bow and attributes always include at least one attribute that scales with the weapon. Like you could have Dex + focus for a niche build, but not strength + focus as that is most likely useless for any build.
The problem I have, if I understand the other mods. Is that 590 is seen as a cap, and you have to get an upgrade bump to break above that cap.
Which means the majority of all drops are sub 590.
I would like to see the floor raised and ceiling raised. So that if I’m say 590, the majority of the gear I see is 590. +/- 5
The cap will be 595 even though the expertise shows 590. The drops will swing from 585 to 595, then only, when I get the upgrade bump, will I see an item 595+ Drop.
I think that would be a fair compromise. It keeps the core of what the developers want, while giving us a better chance at gear we might actually use.
As for salvaged items, it would perhaps be nice if you got some random craft mat from it. Nothing too crazy, just maybe 1 ingot or cloth or leather. Only on items 520+ though.
Once my hwm is max I expect to get some decent drops. If all I get is garbage I’ll probably move on. My idea of an mmo is killing mobs and getting rewarded for it. Not standing in town doing the incredibly boring and tedious crafting.
This crafting nonsense is what fuels the bot problem in my opinion. People realize they would have to put time into crafting so they buy gold to buy large amounts of materials so they can level up to 200. Then they need another huge sum of gold to get their trophies in every profession so they can craft decent stuff. Then it takes a lot of attempts to make that bis item they are dreaming of. Better visit the gameplay ruining gold seller for some more material money quick. That progress ring addiction is a powerful thing.
Ags set up an addictive progression theme in this game that sets up a portion of their customers to succumb to the predation of gold sellers. Then they took zero steps to thwart the problem. From day 1 their goal everyday should have been to protect their customers from these predators.
600 greens can and do drop
