I solo q all the time you don’t know me at all don’t act
I’m literally referencing your own statement. You are advocating for people to do it. Read and comprehend your own posts before getting indignant.
I support the no pre made and all random concept.
Sometimes it’s fun to play against your own friends.
No need to be so sticky like glue.
you’re not referencing my post you’re trying to paint me as someone who does the exact thing you’re whining about and I’m totally not, back the hell up dude
We’re tired of nerfing weapons and now we’re onto whining about nerfing groups?
Wow… Just wow…
The entire reason people swapped to bow/musket (not the people who’ve done it forever) was to counter act groups. If you come up against a pre-made that is deleting anyone they come across with their pocket healer, you will do next to no damage, and be in a game getting no xp. People swapped to ranged weapons to keep damaging the people getting healed to farm points.
It’s literally why the meta is what it is today.
Give us solo queue and you’ll see a TON more melee.
Only thing I can see how it can be fair is for OPR to be server vs server.
This will also make it that you do not keep playing against the same players.
Your solution to the problem is to become the problem. This is not what we want. Getting stomped is equally frustrating as being the stomper is unsatisfying.
OPR premade groups are not getting the equivalent War practice from stomping.
Are the premades in OPR practicing to fight a war against pugs or are they practicing to fight against formidable opponents? This could be balanced with the suggestion below
^ This is a symptom of premade groups along with other factors including rapier mobility and bow hitbox.
This is an issue that should have equilization but this is also worsened by premade groups. A premade group guarantees that the average GS of their whole 20 man Team is higher.
That’s 5 guaranteed high GS BIS team members and 15 randoms, where as the other side is all 20 randoms.
I mean I’m advocating for using OPR to practice moving and fighting as a group, not as a way to stomp people when you’re already a well-oiled machine with BIS gear. My message isn’t directed at the incredibly strong pre-made groups who are queuing and stomping. It’s a reminder that there are less experienced, less geared, lower GS people who enjoy playing in a group to improve.
I agree completely with you. But not all pre-made groups are stomping. I do frequently queue for OPR with company members, but very few of us are 620+, even fewer have the money for absolute BIS gear. I doubt many people even notice we are a pre-made because we’re often disorganized and scattered. We need practice.
I can’t say what someone 625 with BIS gear gets out of queuing with 4 of their friends who also have 625 BIS gear and are in every war the server has just to stomp people. But eliminating the functionality of doing it, just because people at the highest end operate in a way that creates unbalanced matches, would be a shame.
This is absolutely and unequivocally not a correct correlation because you don’t have to have a certain GS in order to form a group. Lately, I’ve been grouping with fresh 60s for their first or first-ish OPR. Why are we assuming only 625 war vets with BIS gear group for OPR?
You make an excellent point and this is the heart of why I don’t see these BIS stomping pre-made groups as a problem. They are formidable opponents. Fighting them, especially if I have a group of people I can try to coordinate with, is the more rewarding experience, win or lose, because there’s so much more to be learned.
I respect your opinion on this as much as I respect your prowess in OPR itself. You’ve killed me plenty of times and I see it as valuable experience. I just disagree with the premise that the groups people are identifying as a problem are the only people grouping, and that grouping for OPR isn’t an important functionality for those that are still learning and gearing up, or are just more casual and want to have fun with their friends.
I was specifically saying callouts and actual plays.
i.e. someone is chasing your healer, tell them to turn around and deal with the skitzo.
or someone is low, call that out in the group so they can focus CC on them.
Solos can play to a point, but not as good as an actual discord group. Also that discord group most likely has a healer with them which really tips the balance for their favor the most. Although you have a point about playing well together, it really comes down to the weapon choices since it’s not balanced (1 team having more healer than the other), and pre-mades having more coordination than solos.
Poeple swap to range because melee isnt playable without a sacred to sit in. Removing groups wont increase the amount of healers on your team, or make them drop the sacred on bruisers instead on themselves. Not fighting against premades isn’t going to make the matches where your team doesnt have a single healer any less miserable. Solo queueing as melee simply isnt worth the gamble.
You remove premades and you essentially create a range only queue.
I would take a ranged only queue (which wont actually happen) over the shit show we have now. It essentially becomes ranged only on the losing team since its the only way to damage the premades without getting deleted immediately.
The team with more ranged loses 100% of the time. Idk why people always cry about musket and bows in opr. They are trash.
Oh I’m well aware. But I am “part of the problem” in their minds. Cuz I pull out my bow and farm my 3k points while the entire team is getting rolled over.
I have no idea how AGS thinks this is a real solution. AFAIK they implemented the xp requirements to fight bots afk’ing in OPR. Why does it lower the PVP XP if you don’t get 3k points???
For that matter, why not just do something about the bots? But then we all know why ![]()
So you sit on the outskirts while the other side caps and you wonder why your matches feel imbalanced?
Ive shit on multiple premades while solo queue when i get lucky and have a healier in my group. And ive come in 35th with 20 deaths against no premades when i have one of the shit games with no healers on my team.
Premades on the other team only influnces your chance to win the fight, its if your team has healers that determine if you get to fight in the first place. And the risk, and misery, of no healer matches stops poeple from bothering to solo queue as bruiser.
Becuase they are miserable to both play with and against
If the enemy team has 3 forts and we are just fighting on the road yeah. We get pushed into spawn very quickly and the 3 doors dont do shit to counteract this.
I think solo/duo queue would be more fun, but I don’t really care about premades that much.
same things happen on berri almost every opr in the evening same 10-15 people going into opr as a group and killing 1 person at a time hahah really un-fair considering they legit getting jumped on out of no where by a team that you don’t know is a team
