I’d support it, if the PVP community agrees to two things.
First you can’t do any PVE activities the other 6 days of the week. That means no gathering, crafting, quests, loot crates, etc… nothing that isn’t PVP only.
The PVP community agrees that they won’t play on the PVP only day to prove they aren’t suggestion a PVP only day so they can grief the people who don’t PVP…
I think having 1 day forced pvp should not be a thing because it does not fit into the lore or mechanics of the game.
What I think would be better is forced pvp linked to zone conflicts.
If a zone is put into conflict, then it is forced pvp until the war is concluded.
The details:
Only the two factions at war are forced flagged, the third is not forced flagged.
Global market TP is disabled at this time and resources would need to be run in.
This gives advantage to those not involved in the war and can be viewed as an underdog bonus for those who don’t own many territories, or the main territories.
I do think if this was done, there would need to be a 24hour or 48 hour ceasefire after the war where influence can not be made against the territory to make conflict to avoid territories flagged 24/7.
You miss one simple fact tho. AGS is already on record as saying that no one will be forced to PVP. They made this promise because the vast majority of MMORPG player’s are PVE centric.
If the hardcore PVP crowd keeps pushing their agenda to try and hijack the game, they are going to be very disappointed when AGS chooses PVE over PVP.
To be honest… when I first heard about NW, it was still full PvP and full loot on death, and that’s what I was sold on, when I played preview and it had removed the full loot, it was the combat that sold me.
No, thank you. I’d just end up not playing on that day. PVP specific worlds would be a better option. People in general dislike being forced to do anything.
Make top-level crafting items only be dropped by player kills but still be tradable. Or have to be flagged to collect nodes… Risk/ Reward. Bots, Gone… Imagine guilds going out to protect their crafters.
Where do you think gear should come from if not from PvE?
Do legendary armors and weapons grow on trees?
How about instead of something silly, we just make OPR like we used to play magic the gathering when I was a child. You put up a piece of gear as collateral and when you lose, the winners get it.
At least that would make sense and the spoils would go to the victors. Anything else is just conjuring gear out of thin air.
I didn’t follow this game at all during development and literally only bought it because, when it launched, I heard it was actually a faction-based, open world, PvP game about territory control. There’s a real failure in advertising here since the PvE players seem to think this was supposed to be a PvE game and the PvP players thought the opposite, and it’s probably due to the fact that it absolutely was designed as a PvP game before AGS caved to the demands of the PvE players because apparently having literally every game on the market geared towards them already was not enough, they also needed this game geared towards them.
