One thing that would VASTLY improve player experience

Combat responsiveness.

I’m sure we’ve all experienced it. You are in a duel, open world pvp, war, or even PVE grinding and you are frantically spamming your swap weapon hotkey because of how sluggish and delayed it is.

Big offenders are ice gauntlet, lifestaff, and spear. I painstakingly try to combo off a knockdown, ice shower root, or try to perform a quick flash heal in the middle of combat only to be met with utter frustration. I feel like having weapon swap serve as a queue would drastically improve this issue.

Also, hit registration needs to be investigated. The spear is wonky and I’m certain bullets and arrows are whiffing constantly, presumably because of their smaller hitboxes compared to the orbs from the magic weapons.

Please don’t start queuing actions and call it combat responsiveness. This is not turn based game and is a game based on player skill.

If I press weapon swap, my weapon swap should *start immediately, cancelling any other animations currently being performed.

The same should happen with dodge and block. Too many times you’re locked into a heavy attack animation and can’t block an attack in time because of the animation hierarchy.

There’s actually a perk that decreases weapon swap time, so no it shouldn’t be immediate, having is queue would be the best solution so you’re not spamming the swap button if you prefer that over the keybinding for that specific weapon.

They also need to fix how sometimes there’s no registry for heavy attacks. Whenever I’m trying to heavy with LS or FS sometimes it just doesn’t respond… I understand it is not supposed to when I don’t have the mana to charge but it happens when full mana as well as when initiating combat, not just during.

Keep the perk, that’s fine; If it decreases the time the animation takes from start to finish then fine.

What me and OP are talking about is how you press weapon swap (or keybind for your alt weapon) and the effect doesn’t fire because you’re midway through an animation. Meaning you spam the button to weapon swap.

When I instruct the game to carry out an action such as dodge, block or weapon swap; it should start that action immediately, and override any other actions(animations) being carried out.

They’ve half done this with dodge/sheathe animation cancelling either intentionally or accidentally, but a real QoL upgrade would be to intentionally add this to dodge, block and weapon swap

Lol waht? That’s a terrible idea. Queueing abilities. Clearly this game has no vision

Gravity Well getting a nerf would vastly improve player experience.

Did a war last night where the other team is so scummy they don’t let anyone in a War unless you’re an axe wielding brute, and well… they steamrolled us from an overabundance of gravity wells all over the place, which for some reason leaves you unable to do a single thing but stand there, combined with the atrocious lag, and it was one of the most miserable experiences I have ever had in a game.

Please try to not take this the wrong way, but this was a ‘good’ idea when it was suggest back in Beta. At this point it is a ‘old’ idea that has been commented on for a couple of months now

Spear gave me a few hiccups. Axe/Hammer swap seems to be my biggest issue. There’s another thread out there explaining why. It falls short on the fact that it shouldn’t be an issue though
