Make the Company give up any town that is currently owned when they win a war for a 2nd town.
If a company takes a 2nd town the first town goes up for Auction, like when the game first started. Perhaps, first dibs for Same Faction Companies. Or totally go other way, the 2 opposing Factions can sign up to fight for it without pushing bars up.
Yes, great idea. I’m so sick of the same company owning 5 territories and not putting town buffs up on any of them! I feel like if companies can only own one town, they will take more care of it. Or maybe not.
The problem is that the companies can just form more companies. There needs to be some sort of fundamental change, like removing companies from zones, spliting the ownership/payouts to multiple companies, or some sort of “extra-company” concept like an alliance in eve has multiple companies in it (so you’d place your company in a super-company structure with other companies and take it as an alliance/empire/etc).
I know you don’t agree, but to be honest i dont care. There is a problem with the access of wars. Toxic individuals with their “we like you or dont like you” war slot mentality, largely based off exploiting, abusing mechanics, or out-right cheating, is not welcome.
Atm my opinion is that anyone who helps push and declares should get slots only that company manages. So if 50 companies push but only 5 push and declare, each of those 5 should get 10 slots and other sub-war generals should not be able to influence (kick, swap, move, fill etc) those slots.
If that group of 5 companies wins the war, they all should split the weekly payout.
I’ve been in a couple top tier companies, I’m currently in a company that is the best company on a fresh server. Probably will keep that title when it’s eventually merged.
No exploits or cheating involved ever.
War slots are primarily focused on in company (ya know, 25 in company for attacks and 40 for defense). The other slots, if company isn’t available, is given to better players on the server.
It’s always been like that. If your crap, if your build is useless, you won’t be slotted.
It’s the only competitive aspect on the game. Get over it.
Yea, well iv been in them and been in leadership of them since the creation of the game. When someone tells me there is no cheating, exploits etc,
I immediately know they are lying. So i start to ask myself, why. It generally is because they dont want attention from the devs on it. You can lie all you want just know you are not fooling me. I know how mmo’s work, and i know what top ranked companies do to stay on top. IF you think for a moment i will accept that, you are only deluding yourself.
I have over 100 wars fought, i dont need you to explain it. The fact of the matter is that the mass population cannot access wars. one of my company members has not been in a single war with 7000 hours played.
Bad take, the “mercenary” limit system and war cooldown has done more harm than good and effectively limits the entry to players outside of a company. It gatekeeps that content even more than it was before where it wasn’t uncommon to have 4/5 wars per night on any said server, now you’re lucky to see even 2 on the same day. I remember couple occasions where I attended 3 wars in a row on the same server which isn’t possible anymore due to war cooldown mechanic, yet wars are the best content this game has to offer in my opinion and that of many other PvP oriented players. Many players just log on the game for them and have no other interaction whatsoever with the rest of the content.
I’ll take a very concrete example, I’ve played and still play on arguably the most competitive EU servers for the past year or so, used to be dry tree > abaton > fae > now barri and there were evenings where para vs bonzai would have 2 even 3 wars on the same night. It was pretty exciting and more players would rotate in the rosters of the different companies simply due to the fact that people are humans and have obligations and not everyone can do 2/3 wars in a row. Now we’re lucky to get a war every 3 days, because of another mechanic introduced with the “mercenary” limitations that doesn’t allow you to declare war against a company that you already have a war scheduled against, which IMO is the most ridiculous of all.
So why in hell would you want to further lock it is beyond me, do we not have such a low player count already?
another fix would be to force company to pay upkeep for the towns. The worst thing is when a company decide to take over land just to let it rot. This happen on my server. A green company decided to take BW just to ignore the zone and dont pay upkeep.
Now they also declared on Brimstone and we are thinking they are going to do the same there. Syndicate is almost wiped out of the map and those who could not join green have decided to leave the game.
I say keep the faction color ownership of town/s but remove the plyr control crap altogether and make it to where there is a set tax in every zone but those who do anything in their faction location/s, discounted including having house tax…this to me seems like a better type of solution than plyr ran towns who make millions and millions throwing expensive stuff on the PT the regular person can’t afford unless you/they resort to RMT and again, adding to the decline of the game bc bot companies love this sh*t
We just need to remove town ownership completely, Have wars as a premade, cross-server, ranked game mode that can be queued any time of the day or night. Using leaderboards wins to determine gold payouts. Although that’s probably how wars will end up being but not till we have the cross-server backend complete, so this version of wars likely won’t be seen till next year.
Basically, the entire map of Lillith is owned by 2 Companies. So, 200 of the 2000 people are getting the rewards of Town ownership.
Forget about Wars for a minute. Invasion night is a disaster. Those 2 Companies are spamming Global Chat begging for signups. At least one of the towns gets downgraded because they can’t get enough to sign up. I hear complaints by Company Officers, “this is such a pain, I had to run so many invasions this week”.
Exactly, from the beginning this game mechanic never had a good future and only generated conflict. And that a few take advantage of how poorly thought it was always.
That would be an awesome change. The Buffs and Townboards could be activated by the Company that took the town. But the Faction ultimately Owns the Town and Payouts go to Everyone in the Faction.
