Open World PVP lets help AGS save it. Your suggestions are very welcome

Almost every level 60 pvp players it is inside the citys waiting for the queue for outpost rush.

And WE are doing that because we like pvp and we don’t care about 10%,/30% luck to be flagged, we just wana action and fight someone.

We are not going to open world pvp because it is so frustrate make pvp quests and nobody is there doing the same thing.

I truly believe that the most important thing to keep players in Open World PVP it is rewards and a weekly scoreboard to compare performance.

About rewards

1- PVP gear above 520 by chests for performance in the OWPvP. By killing players and making pvp quests and PVP events
2- Gold
3- Azoth
4-Tokens

In my opinion the suggestion above could be enough to bring a crowd of pvpers to OPWPvP, but I know that some players believe that OWPvP and OPR can’t survive together. If this assumption it is right we could make OWPvP and OPR interact. With the bonus suggestion below.

Suggestion 1:

BONUS STATS FOR THE NEXT OUTPOST RUSH QUEUE.

Complet one pvp quest and receive 2-5% Defensive (fortify) and income healing bonus for the next outpost rush
Complet two pvp quests and receive also 2-5% armor bonus.
Complet three pvp quests and receive also 2-5% Ofensive and outgoing healing

Suggestion 2:

CONTROL POINTS*

Another ideia could be the resources control points, That give bonus, resources, luck, or anything else to the faction who hold the resources in the territory.

We will have all those players running after the bonus stats or anything else for the next outpost rush queue and finally some action in the open world pvp and save it.

Bonus
PVP events.

In time.

I’m trying to figure out a way to make the Open Word PVP be more attractive and I know that we can find good ideias, show to AGS and work to they implement it.

Don’t need to be my ideias above, could be yours, so if you like open world pvp, please do the same that some friends below are doing, share with us your thoughts and ideas to maybe we make the Open World pvp more attractive in New World.

Cheers!!!

MAYBE A PVP SERVER COULD SOLVE THIS.

What’s the obsession with quests?

How about we get kick ass gear and abilities that can ONLY be earned by actually killing enemy faction players?

E.g. first ability: Purge. Removes all CC and gives a brief CC immunity.

The most important quest for pvp is go and kill other players.

We didn’t have this before but now we have.

Quests are important to make players be all over the map IMO.

you want to save open world pvp, remove pve flagging there done… cause you aint going to save shit until that’s done

Edit to my post:

lawl, love it when people troll comments and flag them even when they don’t break the rules and are on topic…

I think it would be cool if you are auto-flagged for like 5 seconds while gathering resources in open world. This will also counter the bots issue

you mean like new world did by not having it… went from 900k players to less than 500k in 30 days…

and no they dont fail because they are full pvp they fail because they do full pvp badly, just like new world did

Why can’t open world PVP just stand on its own two legs? cause its pointless with pve flagging duh

PvP is all about ePeen. It’s about shallow egos that have to prove to others that they can stomp them. Sure, there are adults among pvpers who just do it for the fun, but most pvpers are all about ago.

That’s the hard truth. With that in mind you have to give rewards that boost those egos.

That means you need to offer FLASHY and NOTICEABLE cosmetic clothing as rewards for pvp. Tie it to achievements so when an achievement is completed you can get a cool new robe with spiky shoulder-guards! Rawr!

KIll 1000 people in open pvp, kill 10,000… whatever… it doesn’t matter what the actual number is, as long as you set a goal and then give a reward that no one can miss once it’s claimed.

Egos satisfied… game goes on.

I can name successful MMOs. I can’t name a single successful MMO that was PVP on at all times. I can name a long list of failed ones though.

Yeah, and it made PvP worse.

Before, all 3 PvP quests were clustered and worth while running. Now you have 2 quests at max in proximity.

Oddly enough their reason to add this kill quest was to promote PvP. It backfired.

needs to be actual rewards for killing players or capping forts. gold or watermark upgrades or something. time gate it so it cant be abused. can only kill a player x times for loot every 24 hours or whatever

wow had a similar thing for honor points in vanilla. if you killed the same guy too many times you eventually reached 0 points until 24 hours passed

Capture points that go live in each zone throughout the day, staggered so you make your way from one to the next. It could be a static trophy you do damage to, when it’s destroyed you get loot (a t5 mat, some gold, faction tokens) but you have to be alive and near it when it’s destroyed to get anything. People fight each other while doing damage to it. Small groups fight on the way to the capture point, people fight while they’re there, etc.

im ok having pve ppl pve’ing in peace.

on the other hand we need incentive pvp ppl cuz if not they will keep quiting away from the game. cuz the current state isnt enough for them

The problem most people have with open world pvp is they don’t want to lose progress on whatever else they’re doing just in case they do lose.

At the beginning it seemed like leaving anywhere flagged and you’d be dropped without hesitation, red is dead.

I feel like my server has matured so much in the last few months though that people have a sort of mutual respect going on where you can tell who wants to fight and who doesn’t.

This won’t always be the case, but its definitely been pleasant.

I think as bugs are fixed and more of the map is unlocked there will definitely need to be some pvp Hotspots where territory control plays an important aspect in everything. For example instead of controlling a fort in a zone, a zone that’s unable to be captured by a company but is constantly up for grabs via King of the hill mechanics and say you can’t get to a specific spot with a boss or extremely rare resource without first winning the zone. This could be done with the current SM or Edengrove or Great Cleave or saved for when the map expands.

Finding ways to reward open world pvp that aren’t straight up abusable or exploitable is a tough task, but I definitely think we will get there.

I think we can all agree it would be nice to see huge groups of players out in the world actually fighting over extremely rare resources, like it used to be with Malevolence and others. Instead of these spots losing their “effectiveness” of farming as the server gets older and more people get the drop they needed from it and never have to do it again, make this “rare resource/drop” something that’ll never suffer from a depreciating market like weaponsmith pants/all the other crafter gear.

I am someone who loves world pvp and used to run around and pvp all day before. However I completely stopped doing this a month or two ago because of the major desync issues with this game.

So step number one if they want to save world pvp will have to be fixing the desync.

Other than that they are adding tuning orbs to the faction shop next patch so I think a lot more people will be doing faction missions which is something I guess

This is something that’s definitely underutilized and I think they’ll definitely be adding some sort of “draw/hotspot” to the map that gets players actively in the same zone for a chance at a competitive reward whether it’s through king of the hill or capture the flag or just straight up who’s faction has the most kills in the area…

Theres so many options to explore, and I hope they thoroughly research and gather opinions from the player base as to how to do this successfully for AGS and the player base.

Theres almost limitless potential here.

Theres so much potential wasted right now with the PVP quests, I’m praying for an update to them specifically to make them more engaging…

But I’m also at a loss as to how.

Without it being heavily exploitable, anyway.

One thing I would love is if we could queue OPR from anywhere in the world. And also make it so pvp missions don’t reset because you died in an OPR. A lot of the time I will finish a pvp quest, join OPR, and when I leave the OPR my pvp mission got reset and I have to do it over again.

If they make this simple change, you can queue OPR while doing pvp missions and world pvping in between queues. Or even just do gathering between the queues. I think this would increase the amount of pvpers running around in the open world
