Yea but its does not matter if its 2.5, 3.5, 4.5k per hit.
Musket effective range is 120m. So x3 max bow effective range and like x7 mage effective range.
If so, then with same rate of fire as mage and close to bow - dmg must be adjusted. Or rate of fire nerfed by a lot.
No, you’re just taking DoTs into account, the thing is (in new world) DoTs start when it first hit the target, not 1sec after the hit, THIS needs to be fixed. cause that’s what makes people think that muskets shots are over powered.
it wouldn’t change the thing
bullet would be smaller and faster than bow arrow, it wouldn’t be any harder to hit somebody with musket, even if, there still would be complaints
absolutely incorrect but in this game accuracy needs to be nerfed cause… its a game
but rifled muskets were superbly accurate… some out to 750+ meters. Some historical royal hunting rifles circa 1675 could hit out to 1000 yards or more. They also ususally had optics.
I mean… uuhh, the changes won’t really affect me, cause i’m already playing mid to short range.
But for those who are not, they will camp their rocks even more. And people will complain even more… Musket will be nerf again until It won’t be useable anymore…
And this I don’t want it to happen.
I think they will affect all muskets. Im assuming accuracy will be crap and longer the distance longer you will have aim at enemy to increase ti. So even shorten range musket will be affected - just less. But that just a wild shot. Lets wait PTR.
This change is convinient for AGS , because the accuracy perk is out since released and useless since then… So thoses changes are convinient… I, once, talked about it on a different post and provided some ideas to rework/replace this perk, devs actually responded saying “I like those ideas”… never seen them in game…
yes, in fact when you look into the king’s royal armory… some of their weapons were quite nice. Unfortunately the powder at the time was terrible and fouling made using rifles in actual combat impractical… which is why smoothbore muskets were used literally up until the 1870’s when cartridges became readily available.
and no im not saying there were armies running around with accurate out to 1000 yard battle rifles… im saying a king or very rich nobleman hunting with his entourage would be using these kinds of weapons to make trick shots on game.
Real solutions would be to remove mortal empowerment and not allow damage increasing runeglass on ranged weapons as there is no con for them they don’t need the defense loss to begin with. Or my favorite solution is to remove the zoom entirely
