I think they will affect all muskets. Im assuming accuracy will be crap and longer the distance longer you will have aim at enemy to increase ti. So even shorten range musket will be affected - just less. But that just a wild shot. Lets wait PTR.

This change is convinient for AGS , because the accuracy perk is out since released and useless since then… So thoses changes are convinient… I, once, talked about it on a different post and provided some ideas to rework/replace this perk, devs actually responded saying “I like those ideas”… never seen them in game…
So youre telling me old muskets are more accurate than most modern day production rifles made with the latest and greatest gunsmithing technology?

Was waiting for sm1 to comment 750m range of musket. While todays sniper riffle does require lof of training to be used on that range.
From what i googled 18 century musket effetive range was like 300m - but did require skill and lot of training.

yes, in fact when you look into the king’s royal armory… some of their weapons were quite nice. Unfortunately the powder at the time was terrible and fouling made using rifles in actual combat impractical… which is why smoothbore muskets were used literally up until the 1870’s when cartridges became readily available.
and no im not saying there were armies running around with accurate out to 1000 yard battle rifles… im saying a king or very rich nobleman hunting with his entourage would be using these kinds of weapons to make trick shots on game.

Real solutions would be to remove mortal empowerment and not allow damage increasing runeglass on ranged weapons as there is no con for them they don’t need the defense loss to begin with. Or my favorite solution is to remove the zoom entirely
No its not. Its probably purgatory. Thats why there are deamons, 17 centry sailors, roman legions and other crap. There is no point in time for NW world.

In my opinion the real issue concerning musket comes from ME and DoTs damage stacking on each other… Because like i said, the msuket shot it self don’t hit harder than any other weapons, 2.8K crit head shot (No ME, and not taking DoT damage in account).
Also DoTs shouldn’t proc when the bullet first hit the target but 1sec after the first hit. First game i’ve seen DoT damage working like that… New World things I guess.

Anyway, DEVS should delete musket, seeing the changes they plan to do on the musket, it’ll just be a useless weapon. Can’t wait to test thoses changes on PTR, but i doubt it would compete against any other weapons after this nerf
