OPR Baron last hit mechanism is trash

straight up copy from league of legends it just does not work well in new world when its 20vs20 one musket clown from otherside of the map can steal it even when our team is completely dominating it

I believe you misspeled DotA.

Just fight out the muskrats or deal with it.

You can always use the secret hidden power of opr chat and type hey guys one go out and check for ranged players or do it yourself.

Edit: they have already nerfed the hills around and everything there’s exactly 2 sides from where ranged can shoot with one being the primary entrance making it almost impossible to shoot without being disturbed by anyone else.
I mean look at them there’s only red players my team didn’t bother to come for some reason all they had to do is send one guy out to pester me

Edit 2 : if you are unsure about your damage on last hitting baron just grab a barrel and that’s that nobody can output as much damage as barrels do

yeah it shouldn’t be who get the last hit it but it should be who get the most damage in in under 25% health so musket can’t snipe steal baroness because it take them too long to shoot or just make it so you can’t shoot baroness from outside her area

how does it make any sense if the enemy team does all the work then you steal it with 1 bullet its just bad design

league player here, from this game i learned that if enemy team stole epic monster it’s just your team’s fault - you should make sure that nobody else will contenst this objective and if so, just wipe out enemy team, not just dumbly left click spam

Easy solution

If it bothers you, grab range and counter players trying to snipe. Don’t even have to kill them. Just annoy em

Hell, grab heavy with S&S/IG. Dex users can’t do anything against you. Healing from Defiant Stance, healing and panic tanking via ice tomb.

It’s a dex users counter. Yea…you can’t kill em…but you’ll be an extreme nuisance.

I mean if by any chance the enemy team is smart they just stack barrels and Instantly kill baron.

This baron steal issue is for me at least clearly a l2p issue. Whenever my team does baron I simply dont help them and go outside searching for snipers.
Its like nobody wants to do that me neither but you either play sweaty for the win or you just left click baron and complain afterwards that someone stole it.

Disagree. It’s an absolutely perfect mechanic.
It’s your and your team’s fault that you let someone steal it.

As you can literally bring 2 barrels, do 50% damage with them and auto win it? Thanks, no.

Both sides have muskets every match so idk what the problem is :nerd_face:

it works well in league because its only 5v5 and there are no musket style champions who can snipe it from far away except draven ult etc but that would be very hard to pull off.

the stealing in itself im fine with if like group of enemies comes there last seconds and loot the thing that baron would drop… something like that would make much more sense in new world

can’t really steal baron from outside the pit easily in leauge. You more than likely won’t have vision of baron HP bar if you are outside the pit. Thats a huge difference with new world.

I agree 1000%. The only change I would make tho is any projectiles fired at Baron from outside of the Baron pit should have a reduction in damage or just negate the damage entirely.
The last hit mechanic is Great.
What’s not ok is that snipers can just camp outside of baron pit and hide until it’s time to take that last shot. Very few skills in LoL can actually steal the baron without putting the user in any risk of dying. Meanwhile, in New World, you can be nice and hidden and fire a hit scan projectile in the comfort of your Prone position.
