OPR Is not pvp.
At least understand that before you complain about it.
It’s cool. I get that OPR is PvPvE. Those that are against the PVE side, I suppose, wish it weren’t so. Maybe that’s another mode for another day?

I got some ideas to balance them out aswell. Just some possibilities that could help. I play a lot of OPR so i gave it some thoughts.
Make it time based. Like only having a certain duration for like 5-10min.
turn it into some kind of attacking weapon. So maybe you could only spawn brutes at points that are not captured by your team and make it despawn after your team got the point. So the enemy team got the same chance for attacking. I would keep the current Azoth needed in this case or even lower it so every team is likely to have a brute attacking with them.
Set a cooldown for throwing it balls into the fort, like 10s cd at least.
Allow teams only to spawn 1 Brute at a fort. (Mostly in my games the team that is already dominating the other team spawns 2 brutes in the middle making it nearly impossible to capture.)
Honestly the biggest issue with brutes is them resetting their health. Idk how many times my team gets them low, then some person that is trolling wants to aggro it and run so it resets back to full health. That’s probably why so many people just ignore killing the brute.
I guess critical thinking isn’t your strong suit. OPR isn’t ONLY PvP. its PvPvE. Notice how it goes beyond just PvP? IE: Brutes.

People crying about OPR want it to be something it wasn’t designed to be. They want it to be pure PvP. Reality is everyone has the same opportunity to summon a brute.
You should be asking for arenas. Not to completely change a game mode to suit your wants.
Maybe try reading between the lines and figure out WHY people want something changed instead of just taking it at face value. The guy above me.is a perfect example

It doesn’t matter. The mode isn’t a pure pvp mode. Stop trying to make it one. Why would you advocate for less gameplay options? I personally enjoy the unique aspect of being able to contribute to a fight by killing enemy players who are farming azoth and turning their azoth into a brute. Much the same I enjoy locking players outta scoring with baron.
What you need is a PvP only mode… like an arena.
Or a war…
Or open world pvp.
Edit : one thing I would like to see is a war like mode that can be played ad nauseum to allow players to practice war tactics. Doesn’t have to strictly be 50 on 50 maybe a smaller version of a territory war.
The problem isn’t the PVE, it is that brutes are way too strong, completely broken, and just not a fun feature. You are completely missing the point if you think it’s an anti PVE post and not a post that is trying to make OPR more fun.
Brutes can’t even walk Into the fort to defend it and pretty soon they won’t be able to pull players. Their meatball is also getting a larger cooldown. And their cost was increased 50% What more do you want? Lol
Okay, ill say it since you are scared to admit it. prob near 80-90% queue solely for the PVP. There is a very limited number of people actually queuing OPR to grind mobs and get azoth to summon brutes.
The game mode legit requires an organized full 20 people to play as the developers intended or had hoped it would be played. Bottom line out of the 80-90% of people who queue OPR for PVP about 60–70% of those players are literal apes, and just want to kill each other not caring about objectives and fight in the middle between points.
Your right what we truly need is a real PVP mode,
Wars are not consistent enough to take up all your time
Open world PVP legit kneecapped by not having PVP forced areas
but we don’t have any of that and nor are we close to it. Right now AGS is focused on increasing azoth up to 750 and all the other incremental changes they have made (granted patch isn’t done ) is not looking good nor massive enough to keep them playing the game. Thats why people are here getting vocal , If they were happy customers they wouldn’t be coming to forums.
Don’t delude yourself. 80-90% of people are signing up for their two gypsum and 500g a day. PvP is Just an inconvenience for them.
I don’t think OP speaks for the entire community, in fact I disagree with OP on all four points. I think the only problem with the brutes is that they regen to 100% health when retreating. Take that way, and they are perfect the way they are. Just my 2 cents.

Brutes are not the problem. The existence of a single game mode for pvp is. There are players that enjoy pvp without actually pvping, like people that enjoy healing, and then there are players that just enjoy being toxic and dominating weak players in pvp (which is fine). I played many games where the pvp aspects have some pve in them, and many that are just pure pvp, and even some with pve modes that had pvp aspects. I don’t think most of the community is against brutes, just the few pure pvp players, and if NW keeps making changes because of what they say, the game will really die.
What we need is an arena mode where people can 5 v 5 each other. Don’t forget, New World is supposed to be a pvp/pve mix, the concept of New world being for pure PVP was done away with, so might be best to stop thinking about the game in that way. New World developers WILL TRY to cater to pve players, swallow that pill or quit.
What they have to do is separate the two in game. A company versus company mode, reguardless of faction, might make sense. Just an idea, because i feel like OPR aside, its tough getting any pvp action in this game that isn’t already dominated by early bird players and in crowds. And the PVE is not real.
