Free list of ideas to improve OPR and make it more fun!
Scoring system/rewards
Ranged players farming score
Give X3 score for damage/healing done on point.
Make playing on points rewarding, make killing enemy structures rewarding, make defending home outpost rewarding.
Motivate players to get as much score as possible and to win
Give 2 OPR caches for wins, 1 for loss.
Remove 3k score cap for max rewards.
Remove 2.5k PvP XP cap, let me get 10k PVP XP if I get 20-30k score in OPR.
Doorway fights are boring
Suggestion 1:
Mid outpost should have 2 extra doorways on the sides (4 total) so that it’s a lot harder to defend and hold it as you get attacked from 3(4) directions not just 1(2). As well as extra summon portals.
Suggestion 2:
A map change. Add a 4th outpost as was suggested
Repairing T3 doors is too strong
Suggestion 1: increase structure damage for summoned creatures; bear and ghost, so that you can’t out repair them and you have to kill the summoned creature in order to hold the door.
Suggestion 2: buildable/destroyable ladders that can let you into the outpost (allows for flanking playstyle)
Unlimited consumables (T5 honing stones, gemstone dust, oakflesh balms, health and mana potions)
Making it less expensive would make it more rewarding
Map size/Rotations/Strategy
Haste.
The map is quite big and people don’t wanna play running simulator and instead be able get back straight into the fight in seconds.
Suggestion 1:
add EASILY obtainable HASTE potions (for example, give infinite amount of war haste potions to each player)
Suggestion 2:
Or give a haste buff to each player on respawn that disappears on hit
Motivation: This would allow for more strategic plays and faster rotations all over the map! This could help to avoid boring ZergVZerging and doorway fights.
Motivate players to play with their group.
Make the colour of group mates GREEN (same as company members in open world)
Buildable siege
Build a wooden cover that protects you from ranged attacks.
Buildable ladders/boxes to get over the walls.
Baroness
Last hit mechanic is fine. Hitting Baroness from outside of its spawn location - is fine.
OPR specific potions
Fortification potions - gives strong fortify for 5 seconds
Empowering potions - gives strong empower for 5 seconds.
Defy death potion (ultra experimental) - that gives you defy death for 30 seconds (hatchet ultimate)
Alfa potion - a potion that summons a friendly uncontrollable alpha wolf with increased health pool for 60 seconds.
Kill feeds
It would be awesome to have a kill feed/kill streaks/baroness last hits
Cross server
Casual PvP instanced game modes should be cross server
Matchmaking
We’re asking to make the matchmaking system somewhat smart.
Here’s a set of rules that shouldn’t be hard to implement:
Balancing premade groups.
For example, if there’s a group of 5 in one team - must be countered with any possible premades in the other team (another 5 man, or 4+1, 3+2, 3+1+1, 2+2+1, etc)
Balance by healing.
After premades are balanced: each team has equal or close to equal amount of healers
There so many fun things and ideas that can make OPR the most fun game mode ! Or even it’s own game.
