OPR guide for new players

Hi, I see a lot of new players joined and I wanted to make sure everyone knows the rules of playing OPR in this game. Here goes:

Rule No.1 - As a general rule, melee weapons are usually reserved for NPC’s, they added them into the game to give players the option to cosplay as an NPC, don’t be an NPC, don’t use melee weapons. There are exceptions like rapier and spear, but with spear you can only use javelin. So, melee bad, range is pro

Rule No.2 - now, there are a few good builds you can use, the best players use bow/musket since this allows you a smart playstyle, but you can spice it up and play a mage instead. They have medium range and good damage. Another option is combine bow or musket with rapier. I know I said melee are not allowed, but rapier is the exception and only pro people use it so you gain points for style.

Rule No.3 - We need to talk about the enemies. There are a lot of enemies in OPR. If you see anyone using a melee weapon, except rapier, they are usually NPC’s added by AGS so range players can shoot them and are your main focus. If you see anyone using a ranged weapon, they are the real pro players and you need to stay away from them. I mean you can shot them but why bother. Stick to the plan.

Rule No.4 - Never use anything other than light armor. I am dead serious, your role is to play smart and shoot players from a rock or 100m or more. If an NPC gets close to you, light armor is the best option you have to ignore them

Rule No.5 - This is more of an advice, not necessarily a rule. After you kill an NPC, you get style points if you teabag him. You can try it with a wolf first, to get the hang of it.

Last but not least, have fun and don’t complain. After all, you could be an NPC…

Can I still have fun if I roleplay as lumberjack chopping wood entire time?

Additional info

Here we have one salty left mouse button spammer npc that in the nights dreams about the days when, for about 3 months, the great axe used to launch you forward 3m with every heavy attack and no one could escape to his spamming skills. (There must be a reason why 800.000 people left in this time, hu?)

We, as musketeers, live for their tears. We must have good memory about everyone who dms us with salty tears and focus them to make them drop the biggest ammount of tears possible. The real azoth salt tears.
