OPR, how people really win the game, stop complaining about the musket

I do a lot of trash talking to the ME stackers I kill though, and the hatchet/gs users as well. It messes with their mental then they play poorly and I win the war, even if I lose the match!

Honestly I just have to reiterate this, he said it perfectly! This is the point I’m trying to make when saying people have to be more fluid in their fun. Being so stuck to 1 build (paper) will always put at the losing end when the meta shifts out of its favor (into scissors). Adapt guys, have fun playing rock paper scissors with something other than paper.

when out of 20 players ~17 play dex you have to chase them when solo queuing as a healer. there is nothing else to do. having to be forced to play with a premade just so opr is a little less horrible cant be the fix. idk what kind of copium youre on. but even with a full 5 stack its not fun. yes, you win but its still not fun. because you still run from point to point with little to no fights.

Or the dogshit dev team can create an actual pvp game type… 10v10/15v15 with a specific number of heal/dps/tank per team… 3 game types …deathmatch/domination/cap the flag ? Random rotation.

Let the roleplayers play opr for their gypsym and the people who enjoy pvp to have some what of a competitive space to enjoy.

17 players playing dex is highly uncommon, at least in my server.

I suppose as a healer you’re probably the most needed for joining the group, and the idiots are probably all chasing.

Problem is with 5 man musket team all with aimbot.

Your right everyone needs to only use heavy armor and use musket, problem solved in fact we should all have the same exact build, weapons and armor so that skill can be easily determined

I am amused how much ranting is on the forum each day about the bad state musket is in OPR and yet the Dev cannot explain in forum or in the forged videos about the number one complain.

They should at least acknowledge it if they cannot fix it.

Ur missunderstanding completely the complains about muskets, nobody said the more muskets at a OPR the more easy to win, all the opposite. The more muskets/bows the less chances to win for the reasons you stated above.
The mainly complain its about the “unga bunga big damage meta” , with empowers and stacks everywhere wich is forcing the most scared players to move on those ranged builds if they dont wanna get melted instantly. Something has to be done, even call it meta, its time to take ride of it.

Well, you’re already wrong because the way that you actually win opr is by getting 3k(or 500 if you really don’t care that much) personal score. Your team winning the match literally does not matter.

So, with that in mind…you might understand why muskets and ranged DPS in general ruin it for everyone else.

They need to change the point system if they want people to actually play opr

You win OPR by playing meele.
Noone cares.
The game mode is simply insanely unfun due to ranged spam which is completely overtuned.

No one cares about winning. You get points for damage and full rewards for 3k xp. Hitscan is dogshit.

Ok, but teams having to change builds because of two guys with muskets means it has a disproportionate impact on the game. Its not like that for any other build. 2 or 3 guys running musket on a team forces the entire other team to adapt to just them. 3 mages, healers, bow, tank, bruiser, melee DPS? You can pretty much play whatever build and have a reasonable counterplay. But you dont “beat” a musket by avoiding it. It just means they shoot someone else.

If your “answer” to a a couple people running a build is for the whole other team to fundamentally change their strategy or build, that build is broken.

Any tips for dealing more damage in OPR? I’m 607 GS and barely do 600 damage/hatchet swing.

I feel like I’m just tickling other players…

It isn’t fun for me in the slightest.

That’s probably because a lot of people have been building slash resistance lately.

Even though thrust resistance is still what you want in opr (for most servers), people usually don’t swap their gems just for opr.

This 100 percent, scoring system is the reason for the awful opr games.

It rewards dmg and assists way too high and the important stuff way too low.

People are only playing the easiest way to guarantee score.

Hitting a 10 ranged attacks at 2k dmg each gives 500 score on its own. If you get a couple assists with this that is another 100 points.

Sitting on the zone and capping it gives only 90 points. Hitting the killing blow on baron gives 10 points.

This is the problem right here. Scoring system is ridiculous.

Change it to 0.00025 score per dmg dealt instead of the ridiculously high value it is now and 10 points per assist, whilst changing point capture to 500 and see how the meta changes.
