OPR is bad and shouldn't be the primary mode of pvp

Every time I load into opr I wonder why we can’t have proper open world content.

Making it cross world does not solve the inadequacies of the mode.

Adjusting the rewards, new leaderboards, adding LOS, and other edits will never make OPR a fun game mode.

I play opr because its the only guaranteed group pvp available.

New world is an open world game. It should have systems to support open world content.

Opr is only the primary mode of PvP because of rewards.

Switch the rewards for arena and opr and see how many people queue up for OPR then.

TBH I think opr is fine how it is.

What we really need is a 10v10 PvP only gamemode with group finder. This would be so much better for the PvP crowd.

It’s just really boring because nothing has changed it is that thing for so long. They need the 10v10 mode or 5v5.

What?
Man, the past 6 months I only played OPR and I have barely to keep my pots stock. OPR and general PvP rewards are a joke in every way.

Opr has been the best way to get bis PvP gear, and an easy gold maker for me also.

It is the only way for pvpers to get consistent umbrals aswell.

Easily the most rewarding PvP out there. What experience do you have?

I mean if you think opr is unrewarding, what words would you even use for open world PvP?

And also opr rewards are way better than they used to be. God forbid what you would say if we still had old opr rewards from release instead of what we have now.

How much though? It seems that there is no amount that makes open world PvP worth while to the masses who play MMORPGs. They tried how many times?

The one time Open World really took off was in Great Cleave… AGS put an end to that fairly quickly :frowning:

Yeah the great cleave PvP was the highlight, but still not great.

See that’s the thing, AGS didn’t learn anything from GC. They just tore it down and moved on. Sad because that moment in time was full of promise. AGS could’ve built off that situation. Instead we had peeps on here crying for no good reason.

Yeah on the great cleave thing they did not read the room at all.

It’s not the best but the only way.
Umbrals are meager compared to the same time invested on an M5, gold is about the same. The gear… well, yea I got my heavy loadout from there but nothing else, never got the jewelry.

PvP rewards need a slight buff if the PvP scene gets a little healthier, most OPRs are done in the first 5 minutes now with the steamrolling, so you maybe have 1 good match out of 5. At least on my server that’s the feeling.

PvP shouldn’t be AGS’s focus.

While it was fun, I think it would have dried up once everyone hit 200 which was happening way too quickly.

Certainly, no doubt. The point I’m getting at is what happened in Great Cleave was a symptom of the ailing state of PvP up until and since then. It was a very organic event and honestly I believe it caught the Dev’s by surprise.

More importantly though it was a situation that could’ve been built off of. This sudden explosion of Open World FFA between all 3 faction was an epic reflux of pent up PvP. Personally the way they (AGS) quashed it was sad… in that they missed an excellent opportunity. We don’t have all those PvP’ers anymore. Sure many of them are still here, but many have left to since.

AGS lacked the insight and the ability to rise to the occasion. So even though players were progressing very quickly. This was a perfect time to catch the wave, so to speak. Instead they hit us with nerf sticks and then many months went by and PvP Rewards languished anyways. They really should have taken the ball and ran with it. Instead they chose to nerf and time gate. The months since then, stagnant, very very stagnant.
