It is good to see that you guys are going in the right direction.
But in the same time it is frustrating te hear that you guys don’t have a timeline for something so obvious for the OPR.
We can see a lot of different suggestions about how get the kill and the points. But everybody including you and the Devs agree that a capturing and defending control point should award players. And with respect I don’t understand why you guys didn’t come with it since the beginning. And worst then that, you guys don’t have a timeline for it.
Now we will have a new patch with changes lin the gear score that the community are divided. But the obvious score for capturing and defending point is in the limbo…
I honestly think that if guys should go after the simple, the basic, the obvious, you guys will make the players more then happy.
And I wana remind my suggestion:
Keep the OPR with all the changes that are coming plus the capturing and defending awards.
And make a DMR Deathmatch Rush with the only objective to kill. Because it is what the pvp players want:
KILL
CHECK AND COMPARE THEIRS RESULTS
GET SOME REWARD FOR PERFORMANCE
First off I want it thank the dev and the CM for the responses on this post, that’s definitely a good sign. I’m very happy the scoring system will be reworked but I feel like we haven’t had a proper response for the killing blow situation. Getting scored based on damage is a good thing but it won’t change people’s focus on getting killing blows, it’s a pretty important metric in all competitive games. The killing blow should go to whoever knocked down the target OR whoever did the most damage, I believe the former would be easier to implement. This would encourage more tactical fights, less people would be focused on skulls and instead focused on targets, downed targets may even get a chance to be revived. This one small change would greatly improve the OPR experience and could hold people over until the other scoring changes are implemented. Please can AGS respond to this.

Holding a point should be a slow tick in point like maybe a point every 4s and being in the point when it’s captured should reward like 100-150 points or maybe a bit more
This is why a lot of the time people just rush mid because no one wants to sit at the first base getting zero points…
Can’t tell you how many OPR I’ve been in that NO ONE goes to the first base and then someone has to back track to make sure we cap it. lol
Just thinking here…
What if we have scoring for:
1- knock down the player 75 scoreboard
2- Damage more the player 50 scoreboard
3- Finish downed players. 25 scoreboard (random numbers)
Today they call hit a downed player as a kill they could switch for FINISHES (english as a second language here)
Damage still damage
And the knocked could go for a killing blow or just keep “players knockdowns”

We haven’t responded to it directly yet but we’re definitely listening to the feedback you’ve all given on killing blows and how they impact scoring.
are developers and community agents distributed in “subjects” on the forum? because there’s a series of posts that I’ve been following since December and so far they haven’t even had a response…

Some games i dont even rewards . Tanks dont get 600 points in opr cometimes when match is fast . it takes whole opr to get 600 points .
tanks are not tanky in wars , Nullifying oblivion everywhere , makes defiant stance , shield rush fortify useless
Just a meatball with a sword . that poses no threat .
While void gauntlets get
Nullifying oblivion , vs already nerfed healers , and tanks
U get screamed in wars u get movement bug .
So WHERE IS THE JUSTICE .

I like to see in score board with Healing area, so ppl can see how ppl with negative scores have high points.

I really like something along the lines of this!
lmao me every OPR legit always having 350-550+ damage with 25-35+ assists and only like 5 kills, who ever knocked the player down it should be their kill, thats why I have vastly more assists always because of the dumb down feature, its the same in open world pvp and wars, extremely annoying.
I do also agree though actually capping points needs to actually be worth it more atm its really not, its about getting brutes, getting baroness locking score and killing other players (or in my case have my kills stolen all the time especially by ranged players after I deal all the damage or vast majority of)
I play OPR pretty much all day long, I think the best thing to do is just remove downed state from OPR. I’v never seen anyone get revived and it’ll feel more fluid if people just drop dead when hitting 0 health.
its not so much about how killing blows effect your actual score that most people are upset about. Its more that when for example i myself put 10k damage into someone an they go down, an someone else behind me snipes them while theyre down an takes your kill. Thats whats not fun. But yes also the scoring is pretty bad too.
have you noted those of us that build for CC and do objectives? I noticed today, when i chased away a hunter capping one of our points, that me standing there to reset the progress he had managed that I was wasting time getting no points. I surely wouldnt get any points for chasing an uncatchable hunter. I had to stand there a good 20 seconds and got nothing for it.
If i go off and kill npcs I get tones of points though.
This should seriously be a priority for the devs. The whole reason most people play video games is to see simple numbers on a screen at the end of a match. It boost dopamine and brings joy… and makes them want to play more. If your entire community is complaining about scoring… it should be a priority. People don’t play call of duty just to pretend they are shooting guns. No one finishes a game of team death match and says “nice I have 36 assist”. Scoring is the one of the few satisfying things in pvp games. The score keeps people playing. Please fix this next patch or, at the minimum, the way kills are counted (Frustration makes people quit!)
hmm justice for tanks …
Kill stealing is a huge issue. Damage done should matter. Downing someone should matter. Spending time capturing a control point should matter. Spending time on a contested control point in battle should matter even more. I am a melee player and the amount of times I have done at least 50% o the damage, if not more, and then down the guy with my own axe, only to have my kill stolen by a ranged player is infuriating.
