OPR - why AGS purposely chooses to make it bad

Hi, can someone please explain to me why AGS refuses to balance OPR teams? every single game that is a horrible landslide of unfunness is because 1 team has 10+ melee + heals and the other team has 2-3 melee and no heals.

So please considering that the solution is so incredibly simple… can someone from AGS explain to me why to refuse to when assigning teams simple ensure both teams have a balance of roles? if there is a good reason why AGS wants OPR to be so bad 90% of the time then please tell us that reason. otherwise. do the very very simple task of when assigning teams, ensure a balanced split of roles.

The developers just discussed this in the newest Forged in Aeternum video.

They want to eventually improve the matchmaking with team balance, role selection, and even an ELO system. They need to finish developing cross-server first so that the pool of players is large enough for queues to pop, though.

sure, I understand that there is a lot more to be done for OPR, but this change is so very simple and it has nothing to do with queues and needing more players… the queues are popping now… just when they assign people to teams they just need to ensure that a reasonable split of roles. I have had 5 OPR matches today, one was fun the other 4 were absolute whitewash where it was melee + heals staked entirely on one team and of course they steam rolled and it was a very unpleasant experience… all AGS need to do is when they assigned players to sides… just ensure even split of melee and heals to both teams! it is so simple… everything else that they are working on great… continue… but patch this change ASAP please

You could role-lock on joining the queue - i.e. whatever your spec and weapons when you queue are locked to you when you teleport in.

Short of that, well…any of us can be any role at all with two minute’s notice, a gear swap, and an attribute respec. That makes matchmaking problematic without a role lock.

disable slotting different weapons once assigned to a team- sorted, but it is a good point you raise, but again, its a simple fix and it would do absolute wonders for OPR fun.
