OPRs being ruined by ranged

theres too many ranged in opr. I’m not saying AGS needs to nerf any of those weapons. I don’t care about that but I wanna play normal OPR again. In my last few rounds ive seen like 1-2 melees in my teams at MAX. everyone else is musekt, bow or fire staff. its just not fun anymore and it hasnt been fun for weeks now.

also every round is being finished at 100 vs 1000 points. the teams are crazy unbalanced almost every time.

you have an occasional good round followed by 2 days of cancer. is the dev team watching these oprs? is this what they had in mind when designing the game?

knowing which team is going to win is easy, you just need to count how many GA/HM and Sword+Shield in your team, if you have 5 or more, you won!

Problem is game design, not weapon balance.

Hmmmm

I wonder why conflict is going to the way of ranged. Maybe if we look at the evolution of war and conflict we may find an answer?

The only way ranged would not be dominant in any large group conflict situation would be eliminate the weapon.

But that won’t happen. Unless this game was based off of Badlands…

Evolution is awesome!

thats what I’m saying. i can deal with the dmg these weapons do. but if 30 people out of 40 play them its just not fun because theres no fights happening. one team just holds points while the other team cant go in because they all play range and have 50 con

The problem is matchmaking. Why is there not matchmaking?

Just force people into teams where their equiped weapons are divided up at least somewhat equally.

You could lock the weapons if you really want to force team comps, but just dividing people up at the start would solve most of the issues.

Freedom to change classes on a whim, no matchmaking, juicy reward for losing, getting points for doing damage…

Many, many decisions (good and bad) have led to where we are now with OPR. It’s best to look at is as a super-duper casual mode (because it is) and just have some goofs.

thats what I’m doing and when bow was buffed we still made it fun but now its just not bearable anymore.

If you had to win to get rewards, you’d see a shit ton of bruisers and healers quite suddenly. You’d also see a lot fewer people playing.

Casual mode is casual. Just get your rewards, try out some builds, mess around with folks, have some laughs, and move on… and hope they add a true competitive pvp mode in the next year.

Gen Z - “Wahhhhh I’m not winning”
Gen X - “Where’d I put that bow”
Boomers - “Where are my glasses”

Because melee is unplayable without healers, so poeple that solo que play range. That is futher compounded when ever poeple that have healers choose not to play melee, because its just boring to play into range heavy teams as a bruiser even if you win.

Because if they force a low GS to play against GS625 in OPR just to get the necessary 2 gypsum out of the 10 you can get per day, staying at a distance is the most viable way to not die every 30 seconds, it’s that simple. Thank you experience system again.

I played with musket/rapier and got 10/3/54 and with GS550 app and more than 400k damage.

LMAO… then you are agreeing me.

It is the evolution of conflict. More efficient and less casualties in relation to hand to hand/melee combat.

It is amazing how this little social experiment shows how history repeats itself when it relates to conflict evolution. No matter how much you nerf it, ranged will be hated cause “It is the way”.

Only way to solve the problem is bring back PvP scaling before the serious nerf or ban ranged combat.

Thanks!

I mean range is definitely a huge advantage, thats why other games have things like mobility, stealth, and obstacles to balance the range.

The NW devs are trying to balance the range with tons of annoying bushes and trees all over the OPR map that just create more lag and the range shoot right through it all

Hahaha here there are weapons that give mobility just in case and you also have items that you can buy in the same OPR that give movement speed. You just have to learn to build your character well.

That’s why I liked open world PvP. You were forced to consider those factors when it came to what weapon you used.

??? Im using FS/IG. Unless I switch to rapier, all I have is burnout and dodge.

My only strategy is stay with the zerg and get inside the fort so the muskets and bows dont shred me.

Hmmmm Do you know the phrase “fish in a barrel”?

Maybe Kill Zone?

You are basically doing the opposite of what you think you want… survive.

I do survive with this strategy. I am built for aoe damage I love fighting on the point and staying with the zerg lol.

But I can see how players find it extremely frustrating when they are just trying to go from one point to the next solo and they cant get anywhere near the musket on the rock to kill him.
