I played a lot of ESO and dabbled in FF14 and the difference between those two games and this one when it comes to how they handle access to dungeons is night and day. Get out of here with “must be your first mmo” bullshit.

We aren’t being punished, you are right, but when you compare the experience here to other games it sure does feel that way. Please, tell me another mmo that is this restrictive with its content so I can steer clear of it.

You care too much about me if you keep replying boring text walls

u replied first. i don’t want to give u more attention sighs… boring imma just block u so annoying

lol that went off the deep end pretty quick! nice chat

Warcraft had a cooldown when you entered raids that reset weekly. But WoW also had a lot of end game content so you probably never even noticed

I agree that several games, including the upcoming LA NA/EU launch, has daily and weekly cooldowns. However, all those games have lots of content AND allow you to play alts on your server. Here, you play one character, have limited content combined with time-gates (that seem broken) that are the only way to progress. Yeah, who could have foreseen the problem with this setup?

No idea how many games that have timegates, but specifically for old wow in classic with raid timers, that was character specific, couldn’t use gold to just bypass the timers, this orb system is just so broken now.

I like to Grind my Orbs with my friends, It gives me accomplishment when I then finish the istance.
Probably because I don’t feel the need to Hard Min-Max everything in 1 week.
I don’t want to say that everybody should play casual and have a life, but at the same time people that want to finish everything in 1 week should be able to do it but at a cost and the cost is paying the key, supplied by unfortunate guys that don’t have friends to play with or friends who quitted the game.
Destroying a market is never a good thing.

Or again adopt a WoW-Like system. Lazarus and Genesi on spam without having to pay? No please.
At least for me, then personally I don’t really care, AGS decide what they actually want

So no , Orbs are not ruining my game atm. I am more worried about Fishing Bots XD

You misunderstood the point.

In a free market, obviously labor and value will be sold. But this is not a solution to a problem, it is an inevitable outcome of a barrier that shouldn’t exist. I don’t care about capitalism here.

I mentioned weekly raid cd, though these days with 4 difficulties of a raid you can jam pretty much as much as you can stand. You can also run them for no loot.

M+ keys are more or less unlimited. M0 once per week for loot or as often as you like to learn things and plan routes.

Sadly, this attitude is why the game has gone from 900k peak to barely breaking 60k in 6 months. Cool everyone that doesn’t like the grind can go somewhere else. You and your 10 friends can have your elitism in a dead game. Then you can shine about how the casuals killed NW and not that you did everything you could to make it die.

My last hope for this game was for the orbs and keys to be removed. They didn’t do that either, and like 900,000 people who left games for me, he’s dead now.

Nothing wrong with dungeon orbs. The components to make all have value. Time gated materials like runestone and faction points have gold value. People complain about orb but they really just choose not to pay. Pay for your split of the orb value and more people will make orbs. Only do orbs for free and there is no incentive to make them.

It is also not difficult to level up stonecutting. Not difficult to mine stone. Not difficult to farm faction points. Not difficult to buy materials off the trade post. I am making my orbs on CD and usually do 5 runs rotation with them. This is 45 dungeons a week. It is hard to actually do that many so I will probably need to start selling them and just run mutations once I get all the loot im interested in. If people pay for orbs I will keep making them. If they do not pay then I will not make them. If AGS removes orbs it will gut and entire segment of the economy, which is an entire gameplay loop in itself. Basically what you are asking for is to eliminate content from the game.

You can make thousands of gold from a single expedition. Paying 500-1500g will almost certianly leave you ahead from what you pay. The orb crafter is getting a marginal profit at best and is at worst breaking about even. The biggest problem right now is people refusing to engage with this as intended. If you pay at a minimum what an orb is worth the orb economy will expand, as it expands the price will reflect its correct value.

If you had unlimited access to expeditions then they would no doubt need to cut the rewards down to a fraction of what you now get. They would be close to worthless becasue having a gold faucet without a sink almost always has reaching effects.

Orbs = economic

So its okay for the company owning WW/EF to have a gold faucet, but not okay for players to have access to instanced content? That makes no sense.

Only for the elite that are exploiting the system since orbs are NOT tradable, yet people have been using exploits to work around this system. Yes, I believe the way people have been selling orbs is an exploit, and it has negatively affected the community with how toxic groups tend to get.

That would still be better, their can go and cut 75% of all higher tier mutations, and you still get a bunch of umbra shards, mythic 10 gold would still give 1500, mythic 9 would be 1000 it would promote playing the game instead of waiting for the orb cooldowns.

Exactly. This stale argument that “if they removed the time-gates then they would have to reduce rewards” is easy to counter. Then just reduce the rewards.

Most people don’t play games to get a reward, they play the game because they want to have fun, rewards are secondary. So just remove the time-gates, and the rewards, so we can do the content we like to do and not wait for stupid time-gates.
