Misinterpret what? I’ve never seen an MMO that spoon feeds content to people… Especially content that rewards with the finer gear… If you want to be spoon fed go back to WOW… If you don’t like PVP… well news flash… This game has always been advertised with PVP as a focus (Look at the fucking map)… If you don’t do PVP because you don’t have the time to “grind” anything substancial… Then go play farming simulator or a battle royal…
You can try to one up me all you want… But I’m playing the game and loving it as much as any other… I don’t complain… I just tackle the content they created… Whats your excuse?
Lest not forget… You dont HAVE to play Gen or Laz… Try getting a 500 GS and being uber at Dynasty… Maybe stick in your lane and leave the big boy content to big boys.
I craft the orbs myself and choose not to charge people for spots because it was my decision to craft the orbs in the first place. Running dungeons is a right, not a privilege.
Who wants to run Laz/Gen with some kid with a 500 gear score because he crafted basic gear with his 200 Armoring but feels its unfair that he has to grind?
LOL even if the truth stare in you face u can’t see it… and the Player count says it all
if u cant see this … ignorance is bliss and u can’t see people gear score anyway other fail point
and its not like LAz og gen are hard… Try a +20 key in wow then we talk… so if u have not done +20 key in wow or 9-10 mythic raiding i cant take u gaming for real
I was the 1# ranked Assassin on EQ2 for over a year… Killua… Ne Plus Ultra, Arirang… Meh… Maybe that’s why I don’t understand why you kids cry… The ones who have put in the work arn’t crying… maybe they crave MORE… But the real ones emrace the effort.
This game reminds me of Warhammer Online… Almost exact… Only difference is thier is 0 people who partake in open PVP because (as I said in my original post) this generation cant handle being ganked by a group of players who actually put effort into thier gameplay.
I don’t believe you are that lucky consistently. Clearing everything except the myrk portals sometimes results in not even enough sliver-shard-crystals to make a single Gen orb even with stonecutter’s buffs helping out.
I might be okay with the grind if there were set sliver-shard-crystal minimum rewards for each tier of corruption. As it is you can spend 8-12 hours and not even get one orb made.
The good old days…they weren’t that good and we weren’t that old. I love my nostalgic memories of having phone trees to wake everyone up to get that spawn, and my memories of how fun attunements were in early wow, etc. Nostalgia isn’t reality and I didn’t have a mortgage back then.
I guess your mileage may vary, but my server is pretty hopping for all sorts of activities and we are med pop at best.
I am an old school hardcore gamer. I did Insane in the Membrane twice before it was account wide and nerfed. I am not afraid of putting in work. However, the RNGesus or orb creation is stupid. Gating basic PVE content behind many many hours of grinding to be able to even try it is stupid.
At this point your constant generational bias arguments have to be just trolling.
the tuning orbs are not in line with any other content in the game. Like you say, restrict the play of OPR, Wars, and Invasions if you are going to road block dungeons.
Not trolling… Not really meaningful either, I guess. Just my opinion at the time… Evertime I read through these forums all I see is complaining… Do I reach for when I was in my teens and early twenties, and the memories of a month long grind just to gain access to a WW first contested with the bro’s? Yeah… What I do no remember is a majority of the people complaining consistently about grinding req’s for content… Do we all have mortgages now? Sure… Does it take longer for us to get to a competitive point? Yeah… Will that point hold hands with yet ANOTHER update, only adding more time to our “grind?”… Sure…
So what is the answer? Dumb down a content based game so that people who don’t have time can “enjoy” it? — Sure… I wont complain I suppose… Although as I’ve asked before… Name another tiered MMO that has that logic… I don’t know of any.
Just to reiterate… I get what you’re saying… And I can tell that you’ve lived the same feels and memories… Am I as up to par with the younger kids who don’t have to work 10+ hours a day? Nope… But I embrace the suck none the less… Because the hard work and the end result was what made the game fun…
Imagine they reduced the tier V and 600GS down to maybe 2 months worth of game play - 3-4 hours a day… Then what? What goal do you have? – I’ve seen talk about people raging against parsers in NW… Because that would mean they would be scrutinized for not knowing how to play thier class… Well if an actuall mechanic and strat based contested boss was patched in… Then what? Are those who want to be in the limelight supposed to just accept the fact that they can never kill it because ButterPumpkin25 with maxed out crafting skills wants to play wanna-be healer? Come on…
I just feel the game lost players who said “oh AMAZON” and then found out what an MMO was… Because thier has been no real MMO in the last few years released to the main stream… Hence my jab at the new generation of gamers.
Orb gating is… meh… - But if it isn’t complaining about orb’s it will be something else… Just take a look at the threads here.
WoW has multiple levels of free to join PvE content. Only play 2 hrs a week? Normal and Heroic dungeons maybe some low M+ LFR/Normal flex sized raiding. Want to go hard in the paint? M+ keys that level or delevel based on your performance all day every day as many as you care to run.
Technically I guess you have to complete 1 M0 to get a key to play with, but it doesn’t cost you hours upon hours of grind for mats to attempt to do it.
I get what you are saying, but I do not think it is representative of the population at large.
I absolutely think that the biggest population drop off was people that bought the game for the same reason they would buy a new Zelda game…play through the story such as it is and be done with it.
know for a fact that this is the first MMO a lot of people have ever played. In my 90+ member company there are only a few MMO vets. That is not what is at issue here, though.
As for the constant feedback, not all negative feedback is just complaining. Interpreting every negative comment about grinds or weapon balance or the fact that fishing tier 3 aptitude chests don’t actually get awarded is how the game gets improved or fixed.
I can fuck with everything you are saying… I guess I’m just filled with salt. I’m sitting at 600 GS, can run Laz/Gen when I feel… And the game is on easy mode… And I didn’t have to spend hours upon hours getting to this point… Nor neglect my family and mental health… A good, tight nit group goes a long ways and I suppose maybe not everyone has that… Or the initial apititude to figure out a genre of game that hasn’t been introduced much over the past few years.
Grind for all of the harvesting and crafting things is great. There is NO grind for PvP. Why the poop on PVE players? I am not saying there should be grind for PvP participation, I am saying we all have to grind to get to our levels and gear score… done accepted… deal with it. Punishing PVE while PvP runs wide open without any guardrails? Is that right? Should this be a PvP game that punishes PVE players? Should this be a game rampant with bots,. and my GOD are there a massive amount of bots. in this game harvesting all resources? I am telling you straight up, this game will lose sustaining players (PVE).
The PvP players are awesome, and will continue to enjoy their no grind content. I really enjoy pvp in this game. The PVE side which is the folks that normally play the longest (moreso than pvp players) to play will quit. Why should I pay time and energy to do content I already paid for? Be realistic. I won’t quit playing for a bit because of PVP. I would quit right now because of pve.
Grats? I slow ambled my way to 60 am capped across the board on expertise and running ~596 GS. I buy orbs when we run out of in house crafted orbs. I still think it is stupid to put basic dungeon content behind an RNGesus grind.
I also offer “complaints” in the forums as well as suggestions about how to improve things and bug reports or advice. I try not to read tone in text since that rarely ends well, but your salinity is pretty obvious.
Let me ask you this, in what way would it hurt your enjoyment of the game if there weren’t absurd grind gates to entry into basic content?
PVE is ruined by bots and BS, artificial gate entries and sad grinds. You made the expeditions, we paid to enjoy them, STOP making it HARD to ENJOY the game. If we FAIL the expedition we need to practice from skill, we don’t need to FAIL the expedition because you have made it so hard to enter or made it easy for career bots and gamers to sell us entry. We paid you to have fun Amazon. Mark my words… the game will die as is. Fix it by allowing players to fail or win on their terms… not yours. You made challenging content, for god’s sake, let us enjoy it without miserable entry requirements for PVE that are exploited by money making career company bots and players.
Catering to the elite and the die hards who defend every roadblock put in to extend the limited content will decrease the player base. I remember another MMO that did this - Wildstar, which had more end game content than New Word. Where did Wildstar go?
