As you can see crafting an orichalcum ingot give you 10010 smelting experience, meanwhile crafting starmetal ingot only give you 2035 smelting experience. Thats, 5 times or experience gains different. But the problem is, the price of orichalcum ore is only 0.01 which is 30x lower than starmetal ore that sells for 0.70 coins each. How is this even possible. Is it just because the rare drops from each veins?. That might be one of the main reason, but as all players see, even iron ore are 3-4 times higher than orichalcum ore. can someone explain me.
what do u mean?
Orichalcum is farmed 10000x more then starmetal?
Besides… Starmetal is NEEDED to craft orichalcum bars.
I often just delete 5k orichalcum while i am farming it. Dont even bother to sell it.
Starmetal on the other hand is harder to farm cause more people wanting it.
For example, lower level players want it to level.
Higher level players want it to craft orichalcum, bars with.
In the end its all about the beloved Void ore creating this
i’d like to see a possibility to downgrade raw materials… it would change economy in a good way imo.
Lets say turn 20 ORI to 15 STAR with use of something similar to refining material transmuter thingy. Or even exactly this item.
well, that’s explain how hard people plugging their nose just to find nose dung and then threw it away.
yes this would be a good solution for it. at least, orichalcum ore the highest tier of ores have it own values.
You will find this throughout the crafting system, and I think, for several reasons.
First, a lot of people may want to level their crafts, but don’t like the gathering aspects of the game. So they buy the raw materials that they need. So the Trading Post prices reflect that most lower tier ingredients are far more valuable than finished products or even higher tier items. The value comes not in what can be made with it, but by what you can level with it.
Second, again in my opinion, New World is very easy to hit level 60. So a disproportionately high number of players are at or close to 60. Since those players tend to be most active in areas where higher tier mats are found, the economy reflects that as those higher tier items are sold in significantly higher quantities.
Lastly, it is significantly more difficult to level crafts to cap, at least in cost. So the number of people USING those higher level mats is very low.
Because players are setting the price, independent on any gaming factor other than what they observe as availability vs what they seem to be in demand.
Orichalcum isnt cheaper as starmetal by the game. It is sold cheaper because currently players dont value it as high - maybe just because there is not enough high level players yet?
Each tier 5 resources are cheaper than tier 4 just because the t5 resources are been constantly farming just for the legendary items which is available on tier 5 only and people farm other type of tier resources just to get the required amount to make what they need.
Per day I drop up to 10k wirefibers
