Ouch... Peak times and people just don't like the patch

See, the problem here is that people are doing exactly that.

I have to disagree.
They way I see what’s happening, is that the dumpster fire is roaring strong. The community is asking the devs to douse the fire and remove the dumpster, so that it doesn’t ruin the nice BBQ.
But the devs have decided to keep on BBQing using the dumpster fire to cook the meat.
And every so often, they keep adding a tire, or a bag full of medical disposal to the fire, for extra flavor, while thinking “They are gonna love this!!!”

After they deliver the food and are thanked only with gagging faces and people leaving the yard, they gather and say to each other “We need to recover the trust of the people. We are gonna do it right now! Yeah! Add more tires and a bag of fertilizer to the fire!”

People were hard doing dungeons in my server, OPR wasn’t the flavour

OPR benötigt mehr Karten, auch welche ohne PVE inhalte

Yeah, I uninstalled last night.

Probably will for the foreseeable future.

There’s way too many good games that have come out or are coming out to make me want to grind content I’ve already done for an arbitrary metric to pad AGS’s stats.

who care, stop cry, if you do want to play this game just leave, stop make this type os post… every fcking days same sh1t

gute Verbesserungsvorschläge machen ist doch ok…ich habe noch Hoffnung, dass das Endgame Grundlegend verbessert wird und das Dinge kommen die richtig Spaß machen

It should be up there, but some version CS should and likely always will be #1. Best competitive FPS ever made.

Agree 100% on that. FTP = Most expensive to play competitively.

FTP microtransaction slot machines and mobile are the reason why good gaming titles are hard to find and get much less development resources than whale milkers.

These posts are so tiresome, low-effort, and misleading. Lots of other games bring in these kinds of numbers and aren’t considered “dead games”.

I’m not saying the player count trends are good - I don’t play as often as I used to - but just tired of seeing this same post telling us we’re playing a dead game, when every time I log the world is plenty active.

dont worry mate, when u stopped seeing these posts, is when the game is really over.

I believe all people here love this game and hope for it to improve.
we still make the effort to speak out because we care.
if the game is gonna just keep ignoring what players care and continue this trend, obviously we are worried and thus these posts.

I mean I’m having fun didn’t ff14 suck for years look at it now. I’d just chill and play in a few patches if I was u cheers

You can’t implement changes that negatively change people game play. It doesn’t work. Like this gear score change on people with less than 590 expertise. You just kicked the people in the nuts who are selling any 590-600 gear because except for BIS pieces, no one will buy it anymore. Who’s gonna pay 5k for armor that gets dumbed down to 540 or less. I still do not understand why gaming companies think that players want more grind. More senseless time looting chests.

The reason FF14 got popular at this point is because a mass exodus from people tired of WoW’s crap and Asmongold. It was a perfect storm much like WoW was a perfect storm in its time. The developers of FF14 did do the right things with the game but it would not have gone noticed to the extent it has without everyones hated streamer.

Let’s see the Let’s see what this patch changed:

  • removed winter event

  • removed the usefulness of buying gear (i’m not close to 590 expertise), aka can’t respec

  • x5 price jack up for my houses

  • introduced countless bugs

  • diminished the value of my crafts as people with low expertise no longer are interested

  • Neutral: added a m1 system which I have no use for (not 590 yet)

Meanwhile at AGS: “jeez, I wonder why people aren’t logging in to check the new update”

While the update might be good for the long term health of the game, right now it is a net negative for most players. No surprise we don’t see big numbers.

PS: I mostly play pvp. The update also had the side effect of no OPR happening since most players are rushing the new gear-grind.

PS2: expeditions are now easier to enter which is a nice thing in the long run too, but doesn’t really change anything in my day to day experience.

Lots of games you tell? Can you please give me few names of games loosing population that fast?

Check the steam charts of virtually every new release in the last 5 years and tell me what the trend is over the first 6 months. New World player loss is not an anomaly. Again, not saying it’s a good thing and I’m also not arguing about the downward trend. I’m saying that 70-80k players logging into a game every day does not mean a game is dead or it’s “GAME OVER” as OP put it.

It’s less than 70-80k. Steam will report any actively running game. I’m sure I have like 400 hours of game time and while actually 1/3 of that is easily the game running while I forgot about it.

For the steam numbers, a portion of it will be clients that are disconnected, another will be bots and RMT accounts, and yet another will be players that do sign in but are barely able to get themselves to do much for the 5 to 20 mins they are on. Also, some players have more than one account.

Last night during peak we were at 53k according to nwdb.

This game is not in a good place. Any different site that uses a reporting API will show a good 5-10k less players.

Remember banning RMT and bot accounts actually increases the values on Steam. The actual player base is probably closer to 40k at this point.

Comparing apples to oranges here. Most MMOs don’t show up on Steam charts because they have their own dedicated launcher. Saying New World has more concurrent players than other genres is being disingenuous at best.

Which bugs? The ones from the launch of game that still exist? The ones from the first emergency patches? Or the ones from this latest clusterF? That’s the thing, they break more than they fix.
