Ouch, player numbers are dropping

It seems that new world is going to have the early destiny development cycle of long periods of content drought followed by a big content update that brings people back for a short period before they stop logging in again.

Unless the dev team is significantly expanded to be able to pump out seasonal content and more engaging content than killing a bullet sponge world boss we will just have to get used to that sort of development cycle and player numbers that reflect that.

same on SA servers, we barely hit 900

They will drop till PVP will be viable, at the moment so unbalanced, why? because we focus pve?! wtf this is online game.

Making PvP viable isnt just about balance.

PvP players do not want to have to farm pve for 1000 hours to buy pvp gear.

The track/OPR rewards are RNG trash and you cannot just use them to gear up.

Crafting is even more RNG trash.

So pvp players go play a game like WoW where they can just focus on PvP and get the good pvp gear.

Crafting needs to be removed. PvP vendors selling bis gear for salt need to be added.

Bis gear needs to be added to PvE encounters and the raid coming up.

Theres such a large divide in what a casual player logs in and experiences in New World and somebody looking for a more competitive experience and it just gets wider with every change and every day that goes by.

Its extremely easy to tell which kind of player someone is by the things they post, too.

Casuals dont experience problems competitive players do so to them its not an issue.

Thats why from 1 million drop to 2k~3k , stop dreaming that online games is PVE, this will never happen, all top games are PVP. this is all about in online games, to smash other heads or get smashed, go and play single player games if you want, plenty of them.

Player numbers go up and drop all the time, it’s natural and normal. You will always get an increase in players when major content is released and they will drop off again over time.

leaderboards are a good first step in making competitive game modes for PVE and PVP. This is something a lot of people have been asking since launch as till now all we have had is casual content, now we can compete against each other and be competitive.

Now all the devs need to do is completely remove territory ownership and add a premade, cross-server, queueable and ranked game mode for wars and wars will finally be a competitive game mode, especially with using leaderboards to determine rewards.

Don’t think of new content as the end product, think of it as a stepping stone. All the features we want won’t be developed or implemented overnight, games like these take years of continued development before they are perfect. I have no doubt that in a year or two the game will be fantastic in every way.

How many years old is AO? No MMO launches with the content of 10-20 year old MMO’s.

IT takes time, we understand and they did alot in 1 year+ but, still weapons are unbalanced, why? i dont know but something is wrong, i’m pve/pvp, but at the end of the day i want proper pvp, balanced or at least, not how is now, heavy weapons in light… come one, stuns over stuns, lets be fair sadly i gave 1 year more to change i have all weapons max 625, i can play any dungeon as a mixed player, game lack PVP sadly.

Hey, don’t worry! Big content leaderboards are coming to placate the egocentric shut-in segment. That’ll save it.

All of my friends have quit again and I am not really sure why I should hang around anymore.

stopped playing last November and have no plans of coming back anytime soon.

It’s 1% of the players per day, for two months in a row.

Come T&L and they can shut down the servers and call it Green World.

Tuesday I got nothing to do, dudududu but some people got work/school to do.

Its just a game, who cares? Its not worth getting emotional over it.

The shoe must really be on the other foot when players start using DevSpeak™ terms like “soon” when giving a ‘return to the game’ estimate.

At least it leaves some room for optimism. I’ll take it as a positive sign that you came back to the forums after two months of non-play to update us regarding your current status.

So true. If you like the game, then play it. If you don’t, dont. No reason to get emotional. It’s just a game.

Because I invested so much time in it. I’m not like the majority of you all and play multiple video games, I play one and stick with it. Before this game was WoW from 2004 launch till 2018, before that I played Unreal Tournament and it’s successor on pro ladders,

Wait until you see the player gating and blackmail to sell content involved with the leaderboards. I suspect after a brief, I looked at it log in, even more will stay away, not just not play for a bit every once and awhile. RMT heaven going on here. Let the toxicity flow.

There is still no reason to care that much. It is just a little game, treat it as such. Games are for dumb entertainment, nothing more. Look at all that time you put into those games and took so seriously, do you even have anything tangible to show for all that effort? I just dont see the point in letting a little video game affect my life in any way.
