don’t get me wrong, I’m not for “make everything cross realm (cross world set)”, but I think in this case it can be and it’ll not impact “server identity” experience. I can’t imagine queue at 2AM, its basically dead.
It’s 6PM, Friday, 559 (29% capacity) people on the server and look at my queue so far, and it’ll be worse.
I got like 6 games in and the queues have died on my small server. WTB working server transfers. I’d literally pay money right now. For me nothing in this game is more important than reasonable outpost rush queue times.
this is one of a fair bit of things i liked about FF14 , the system pulled from all servers on that data center to find people for Q’s. And if you didnt want to Q up , you could put up a “party finder” and recruit pre made groups across all servers on the data center. Maybe AGS could hit up Yoshi P and be like “so uh… how we do that”
Bump. Outpost rush really is a lot of fun to play, but when queue times can go over an hour it kinda kills it for me. I think Outpost Rush is a great game mode and I hope it gets the cross-server queues it needs to survive because I would like to keep playing it! (without hour long queues)
We definitely don’t need cross server queues. It’s much better being server-only because it helps promote the server community that this game is reliant on. If a server is too small population-wise they’ve already said they’ll merge those so you’ll be fine in that regard.
As for queueing, you can queue at any faction NPC in any town in the game. And once you queue you can exit out of that screen and go back to playing other stuff while you wait. The queue will show in the top right corner of your screen.
Mixed bag I’ve found. MOST matches have been fine. There has been a few players using some kind of semi-invincible glitch. Croutch spamming healers. Machine gun fire staves. To name a few.
Yea, the crouch spam is fixed. The issue is in small fights healers are so significantly more powerful. It takes 3-4 people to kill a full heavy/onyx healer. They need to re-evaluate healers, I think they should help stave off dying, not just flat out make or break a fight.
As awesome as it would be to have shorter queue times as a result of this, I have a selfish reason as to why I don’t want this. It has to do with the fact that the servers are relatively small, some bigger than others but servers as they are have been capped at just the right amount that you’re often seeing someone, or reading what they say in chat, that is somewhat of a celebrity on the server.
We have a guy in ours for example that does these “BREAKING NEWS:” Rants in Global after some crazy event happens in PvP or something, and he’s gotten well known for doing so. Many other people have been that way as well.
The reason this makes me not want cross server queues for OPR is because I enjoy seeing many of the same players in OPR, it brings out a “friendly competition” sort of thing that pushes us to try our best just to see who comes out on top.
Like I said, selfish reason, and ill admit I’m wrong for not wanting things to become cross server BUT its how I feel. I enjoy it more as a small community.
One of the things I hate about WoW for a while now is that its no longer a community game where players and guilds are well known, now its just a bunch of nameless faces piled around the AH in stormwind.
this topic needs to get more attention. with more ppl taking a break or get the hell out of here we need Ooutpost rush to be cross server and maybe region. Pings are not the greatest anyway so the region difference should not be a massive problem.
waiting 30+ minutes at prime time on a mid pop server should not be a thing.
