You spend however long trying to kill people in heavy armor in a game with zero stagger and no stamina management. If you somehow get on top of them, they throw Sacred Ground down and never die. Outpost Rush is a mode that showcases how bad the PvP in this game is at the moment. I’m sure the more casual crowd will eventually come to the same conclusion if the mode isn’t already dead on their server. You definitely aren’t wrong about “endless scenarios,” lol.
I agree that Outpost Rush gives too much coin. I make the same amount of coin from farming and selling raw materials but takes more time. I make less coin trying to sell actual good crafts. Outpost Rush coin reward needs to be replaced with faction tokens.
Are you serious? First of all, having a long, one sided match is awful. Current settings are better since if you’re winning or losing by landfall, the game will be quick.
Secondly, do you really think a team holding 2 forts for 39 minutes only to lose one of them on the last minute deserves to lose the match? This is insanity.
This not only gives the time to upgrade forts, but also a reason to.
Right now there is no reason to upgrade forts beyond a flimsy door.
You haven’t played many OPRs, upgrading the fort is very worthwhile, especially the respawn tower.
Yes I am serious. And if a match is so terribly one sided, that is a problem for the players to deal with. The players cannot change how the mechanics of the match work, that is what the suggestion is for.
If people actually tried to build up the forts closest to them and use them as forts as intended I do not think we would have so many 1 sided matches. Too many people are so busy running outside forts that I keep getting killed in 1v1 or 2v1s inside our fort while I am asking for help so they don’t cap it. Rarely does someone show up before they cap the point and we lose our first base. By rarely, I seen it happen once… all day… 1 time.
(I am a tank, and I do not have the best of armor so I tend to lose a lot of fights.)
However, I know mechanics and I can see most players seem to just want team fight death matches.) OPR is supposed to be PvE/PvP.
And I have played plenty of OPR’s today to know that I am the ONLY person building even a front and back flimsy door in 90% of my matches. The only things I see build regularly are the summons. - I still do not know how to get the demon guy summoned but I see it plenty.
Strange i manage to make about 15-20k a day farming gear in elite runs and farming hide and ore. U cant even close generate that much gold with Outpost. Invasions and wars take about the same time and give more gold. The only thing they should reduce is the azoth- down to 100 (lose) 150 (win).
Yes Outpost Rush is very great. The question is for how long. How long before the same battle ground becomes boring and how long before some 5heads discover “clever” game mechanics again.
So many people are abusing all the broken armor/perks/gems/etc. that Outpost Rush is not very fun at the moment. It COULD be a lot more fun, but when you have the same nearly unkillable people in every single match it gets old real fast. Some of the worst PvP issues I’ve seen in an MMO…
8k rawhide might be worth as you say, but it takes more than 24h to sell it since you’ll be undercut constantly, whereas Outpost Rush is 300 coin in 20min at most.
Here’s another great news regarding Fort Rush: It’s full of afk bots farming gold.
Replace Outpost Rush coin gain with faction tokens, award coin based on point tiers or change how afk works for this event.
I would have to say no to raid groups for outpost rush it causes a lot of issues with big premade teams being built and just steam rolling everyone unless its pre made vs pre made thats what wow did to fix that issue
My server is not big enough for outpost rush, you may be able to get a few games at peak hours, other than that it is impossible. Any thought of cross server outpost rush? Also even when i do get a game its not very fun there are too many players using exploits (double hatchet, machine gun fire/life staff, hatchet throw canceling, and invulnerability) please fix these things already.
OR is one of the only major coin generators in the game. Hell no to this.
Edit: You seem to have a huge misconception of the term generator - just because you can farm a couple thousand rawhide and sell it on the AH doesn’t mean that you generated that coin. That means the coin you received came from another player. That is a transit of funds from someone else to you. That does not help to maintain the economy. There are an infinite amount of coin-outs and there must be an equal, or slightly greater amount of coin-ins per given amount of time to preserve the in game economy. OR generates coin to maintain a positive coin-in to coin-out ratio, in order to sustain the economy within the game due to coin sinks such as gear repair costs, house purchases, faction merchant purchases, upgrading towns following a failed invasion, etc…
1)At the start of the match, communicate with your team what you’re doing, if you’re the only one in the middle fort, you’re the one at fault. That means your team is prioritizing something else first, likely the brute, since fighting in middle fort while surrounded by two brutes is impossible.
2)The doors are not a priority, you’re wasting your time if you’re building them first, you need to build the respawn tower (incredibly important, most matches have a player farm and build it asap) and buffs (command post) first. People probably saw you went to gather resoures and assumed you’d be upgrading the fort. Only one person is needed, and unfortunately you’re building the wrong stuff.
